Smith, Beatrice L. Frechen, Roy Charles Davis, Onalee B. Ballinger<!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/sills_pat.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Esolda &#8220;Pat&#8221; (Irving) Sills, age 92, of Elsie, MI passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at her home.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 &#038; 6-8 PM. An Order of Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.<br \/>\nEsolda was born in Owosso, Michigan on November 28, 1918, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Ploch) Hosking. She graduated from Corunna High School and attended Clinton County Normal School. Pat resided in Elsie from 1940 to 1950 then moved to Holland from 1950 to 1953 and then returned to Elsie. Pat married Don Irving in 1940, he passed away in 1953. She then married Charles Hubert Sills in 1972.<br \/>\nPat taught school, worked at Redmond&#8217;s and was employed by Federal Mogul working in the Engineering Department from which she retired in 1983. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star. Pat was also a member of Elsie First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and bird watching. Being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her husband Hubert Sills of Elsie, MI, daughter Constance and Duane Zuckschwerdt of Corunna, MI, son Ron and Patti Sills of Vail, CO, daughter-in-law Vickie Irving of Midland, MI, and sister-in-law Irene Hosking of Corunna, MI. She is also survived by grandchildren; Scott and Diane Zuckschwerdt, Eric and Diane Zuckschwerdt, Jenifer Sills, James and Lauren Irving, and Travis Irving, great-grandchildren; Jacob, Lauren, Xavier and Joshua Zuckschwerdt, and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son Tom Irving, brothers; James, Al and William Hosking and sister Adelia Besko.<br \/>\nMemorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donor&#8217;s Choice. The family is being served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/a> Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Nathan A. Smith<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nNathan A. Smith Lansing Age 37, passed away at his home, surrounded by family on July 17, 2011. Nathan was born in Lansing on October 18, 1973. He was a graduate of Haslett High School, and worked as an electrician for Enprotech Mechanical in Lansing. He is preceded in death by his sister Seren.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his father Alan Smith of St. Johns, Michigan; mother Janet Harrington and step-father Mark Harrington of Granby, Colorado and sister Jolyn McAllister of Lansing, Michigan.<br \/>\nA memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Haslett Community Church, 1427 Haslett Road, Haslett, Michigan. Donations can be made in Nathan&#8217;s name to The American Cancer Society .<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Beatrice L. Frechen<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/frechen_beatrice.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/frechen_beatrice.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"frechen_beatrice\" width=\"101\" height=\"142\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-23740\" \/><\/a>Beatrice L. Frechen, 97 of St. Johns died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.  Beatrice was born on April 5, 1914 in Clinton County the daughter of Harrison and Eva (Mullins) Miller.  She graduated from Fowler High School and married Donald Frechen on August 28, 1935.  He preceded her in death in 1975.  Beatrice worked for General Telephone Co. in St. Johns for several years in the business office.  She enjoyed bowling, crafts, basket weaving, ceramics, quilting, knitting and gardening especially in her rose garden.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.<br \/>\nBea is survived by daughter Donna George of Fowler and son Robert (Carol) Frechen of St. Johns.  There are 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.  Sister, Shirley Bertram of Defiance, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild, Scott, 2 brothers and 3 sisters, 2 sons-in-law, Richard Fink and David George.<br \/>\nMass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 A.M.  Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Monday, 2-8 P.M.  A rosary service will be held at 3:00 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:30 P.M.<br \/>\nMemorials may be made to the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Roy Charles Davis<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/davis_roy.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Roy Charles Davis, age 91, of St. Johns, Michigan, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Hazel Findlay, St. Johns, Michigan.<br \/>\nVisitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 2-4 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel and a Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 P.M., Pastor Kathy Leydorf will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan.<br \/>\nRoy was born in Elsie, Michigan on December 31, 1919, the son of A.C. and Hazel M. (Ohler) Davis. Roy graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1938. On January 4, 1943 he married Emily Jones in Detroit, Michigan. Roy served his country in the US Army during WWII. He resided most of his life in St. Johns, Michigan.<br \/>\nRoy was a drainage contractor, he owned antique autos, and enjoyed restoring antique trucks. He loved music. Roy was a former Clinton County Road Commissioner, and served on French School Board. He was a member of the American Legion Post #502, and the 12th Armored Division (Hellcats), and the St. Johns Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Lowe United Methodist Church.<br \/>\nSurvivors include his wife Emily Davis of St. Johns, MI, daughter Holly (Ron) Phinney of St. Johns, MI, son Alan (Bev) Davis of St. Johns, MI, daughter Delia (Alan) Anderson of Portales, NM, daughter Lisa Thurston of St. Johns, MI, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and 3 brothers; Fay, Gilbert &#038; Arthur Davis.<br \/>\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lowe United Methodist Church or Hazel I Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan. Ballinger<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/ballinger_onalee.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Onalee B. Ballinger, 82 of St. Johns, MI died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor.  She was born Dec. 3, 1928 in St. Johns the daughter of Leo and Neva (Brown) Bullard.  She came down with diabetes in 1943 and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1946 and lived on the family farm and moved to St. Johns in 1983.  On Feb. 11, 1950 she married Max F. Ballinger.  After high school she worked for Dr. Clifford Lumbert for six years.  Onalee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.<br \/>\nSurviving are son Brent (Diane) Ballinger, daughter-in-law Beverly Ballinger both of St. Johns.  Grandchildren, Sara (Michael) Jones,  Jeremy,  Jay, Tiffany, Max D. and John Lemke,  great grandson Kade Heibeck, brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews and several close cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Max,, infant son Lynn R. and son Jeffrey P. Ballinger.<br \/>\nThe Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery.  Vigil services at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening. The family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
