Money earned with our “Cards for a Cause Fund Raiser” will be used to support our Large Print collection.
You can purchase either 30 handcrafted & novelty cards for kids with matching envelopes and funky stickers or 30 handmade all occasion greeting cards with envelopes, both in keepsake boxes.
The boxes are $30.00 each with the library receiving a cash return on the sales of each box sold. With cards purchased at the stores at $3.00 or more this is a great deal at $1.00 each. These cards are very attractive and of high quality. Save money now and time later, have cards on hand for every occasion.
Please, stop in and see what they look like and place an order to help the library. The fundraiser will run through the month of August.
Adult Summer Reading Program Wrap Up
Thank you to all the participants in this year’s Adult Summer Reading Program. We had a grand total of 55 patrons read and review more than 270 books over the last two months – numbers that far exceeded expectations! As part of the program we held weekly drawings giving away prizes from St. Johns businesses, and would like to congratulate all of our winners.
Jamie Rewerts, Caroline Cornell, Jacob Cagle, Ann Parker, Sue Dunn, Scott Mohre, Stephanie Hein, and Mary Ellen Darnell were the weekly winners, while Kim Mabe won the grand prize of four tickets to a Lansing Lugnuts baseball game. Congratulations to all!
And of course, we wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without the generous support of our sponsors. Dianne Berry and Redwing Lanes, Blodgett Oil, Big Boy, Kroger, Biggby’s, Kmart, Foster’s Pub, and Speedway all donated prizes or allowed us to advertise at their business, and for that we are extremely grateful. Thank you again for your continued support of Briggs Library.

Guessing Contest Winners
“154 nuts” cracked up the Nussknacker (nutcracker)and Ty Wardin won with his guess of 133 nuts! Last week, summer readers were asked to guess how many chopsticks were hidden in the container. There were 97 chopsticks and Camden Bangs, Jill Dexter, Lyric Hein, Sarah Veale and Wyatt Wilcox were the closest with their guess of 100. Congratulations to our winners.
Library Closure
The Library will be closed on Saturday September 3rd and Monday September 5th for the Labor Day Holiday.
