\nI didn\u2019t give the Detroit Lions much chance of winning in Minnesota this past Sunday. It wasn\u2019t that I\u2019m a terrible fan; it\u2019s just that I\u2019m a realist and know the Lions record against the Vikings. They haven\u2019t won there in thirteen years. The Lions also have an overall losing record against the Vikings. The Vikings have pretty much wiped their football shoes on Lions uniforms.
\nI\u2019ve hated the Vikings every since they came into the league. Maybe it\u2019s because they became a consistently good football team and we haven\u2019t been. 1991 was the last time we felt we were going to win it all.
\nExpectantly the Lions fell behind 20-0 at halftime and it\u2019s at the point when I always claim that good coaches make the right adjustments. Well they did, and the Lions did, and they won the game 26-23.
\nNext up, the Dallas Cowboys at Dallas.<\/p>\n

This week Jimmy Fallon featured \u201cPink Floyd\u201d on his late night show. Although I\u2019ve heard of them I don\u2019t think a man my age is going to take up listening to them. The band\u2019s name suggests to me that I wouldn\u2019t like them anyway. I haven\u2019t bought any music in any form for quite a while. I suppose I got it out of my system. Instead of listening to music I tune into the talk radio programs. It seems to suit my age better.<\/p>\n

Andy Rooney is doing his last segment on \u201c60 Minutes\u201d this Sunday after delivering 1,096 of what he calls, \u201cessays.\u201d He writes like a confused American and delivers it in that wining voice that seems to catch our attention. He might say something like, \u201cWhatever happened to our Constitution,\u201d and then he goes about explaining why he said that. He might also say something like, \u201cOur friends in Washington seem to ignore it. I wonder why?\u201d
\nMaybe that\u2019s why we like him so much, he thinks like us whether we want to admit it or not. Believe me there are a lot of us confused in this country today.<\/p>\n

A few thoughts:
\nObama\u2019s either the biggest liar ever to occupy the White House or he\u2019s totally misinformed.
\nThe last two presidents have operated \u201coutside the law\u201d by not enforcing our immigration laws. What other nation allows as many illegal immigrants as we do? The current laws don\u2019t need changing, just enforcing.
\nJust when I\u2019m enjoying my recently purchased Kindle e-reader Amazon has to come out with another one with a color touch screen. Oh well, Christmas isn\u2019t far away (hint-hint).
\nWe enjoy watching reruns of \u201cAll in the Family\u201d and \u201cMash\u201d at night. There\u2019s not enough good writing on television anymore.
\nWhen a president says, \u201cIf you love me you gotta help me pass this bill,\u201d it\u2019s time to head for the hills.
