\nI tend to be a little superstitious when it comes to watching the Detroit Tigers during this or any year’s playoffs. I made myself a bet, if I tape the Tigers game against the Yankees they’ll lose and if I didn’t, they’d win. Well I taped the game and the Tigers were soundly defeated. I’m not going to pull that stunt again just to prove to myself I’m right so I won’t be taping the fifth game in New York Thursday night. I’ve been right too many times to risk tonight’s game.
\nIf they win you can thank me and if they lose, I’m full of it.<\/p>\n

Apparently Governor Christie is not running for president this time around. A decision probably reached after considering that he might not survive the grueling task of campaigning for the presidency because of his weight. He’s in no condition to do all that running around the country.
\nCampaigning is very demanding on any candidate for president.
\nChristie would be compared to William Howard Taft who was elected president before television. I think Taft at times weighed over 300 lbs and I’m sure Christie does too.
\nThe 1960 election changed how we elect our presidents and certainly a person’s weight would enter into the equation. Nixon lost the television debates but is said to have won the debate on the radio.
\nPoor Nixon, his five-o’clock shadow cost him back then but in today’s world a one or two days growth of whiskers is considered in style. I’ve also mentioned before that nobody since Eisenhower, who was bald-headed, has been elected president. That’s because he ran against the Democratic candidate, Adlai Stevenson, who was also bald. Gerald Ford was appointed.
\nWe are so “looks” oriented.<\/p>\n

If the federal government was a television show it would be listed as a situation comedy. Nobody could write the kinds of things they come up with. I think we’re finally getting the jokes but I don’t think we’re liking them because they’re directed at us.
\nObama wants Congress to pass his “jobs bill” now! Speaker of the House and Republican, John Boehner, says, “Okay, we’ll vote on it.” Senate Majority Leader and Democrat, Harry Reid, said, “Ridiculous! We have to have debates on it.” Where were the debates when Obamacare passed?
\nWhat party does Obama belong to again?
\nWhat is happening is that both sides aren’t voting for this bill because of the elections next year and this is a snake venom bill and they don’t want to be tied to it. Isn’t that sweet!<\/p>\n

A few thoughts:
\nWhat if there was no G. W. Bush to blame, does that mean it’s Bill Clinton’s fault? What would Obama do then? Would he say, damn, no opposition to blame this mess on, guess it’s my fault. Responsibility is tough on our leaders.
\nWhy do they keep putting more laws on the books? Haven’t they done enough damage already?
\nThere’s something special going on with the Detroit Lions. That’s all I’m going to say without jinxing them too.
\nI think Obama, after pouring almost a half a billion dollars of our money into that rat-hole, Solyndra, should go into partnership with Al Gore and spend their own damn money on their agendas.
\nI think I would be a good replacement for Andy Rooney. I can whine with the best of them. I don’t know about the lovable part.
