Patrons can now download popular and classic eBooks to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle app, such as iPhone, iPad, Android, and more. Briggs Public Library also offers eBooks and audiobooks for use on a PC or Mac computer and popular mobile devices such as a Smartphone, MP3 player, and eBook reader like the Barnes and Noble Nook and Sony Reader.<br \/>\nKindle users can browse the Fuel Your Mind Digital Collection for bestselling and classic eBooks from PC or Mac computer, check out titles using their library card , and select &#8220;Get for Kindle&#8221; to deliver eBooks to their Kindle device or any device running the free Kindle app. Users who enjoy eBooks on Kindle will benefit from Amazon&#8217;s Whispersync technology that synchronizes notes, highlights and last page read between their Kindle and free Kindle apps. Bring your canned and dried goods to the circulation desk and we will place them in the display case. What a great way to teach our children to care for our friends and neighbors in need! Food donations will be accepted until Friday, November 18th.<br \/>\n*Please note: cans and boxes are preferred over glass containers and food expiration dates will be observed before acceptance.<br \/>\n<strong>Tween Program<\/strong><br \/>\nAll Tweens (ages 9-12) are invited to celebrate A Candlelit Christmas on Monday, December 5th from 7-8pm. This will be a special event featuring a story read by candlelight, great snacks, a Christmas trivia game, and a chance to design and make your own candle.<br \/>\nRegistration is required and begins Monday, November 7th. Don&#8217;t miss this fun holiday occasion!<br \/>\n<strong>Chapter Chatter<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are a few spaces left in our Chapter Chatter Program. This transitional program with chapter books, snacks, games, or crafts is for ages 6 thru 8 years old. The 1st week staff will present titles for them to choose from. Staff will then read the title chosen to the kids.<br \/>\nWhich books will make the cut? Which books will make it to the next round? Their votes will make the decision! Monday evenings 7-7:45 pm, November 7th-28th, 2011.<br \/>\nRegistration is required.<br \/>\n<strong>Caroling Kids<\/strong><br \/>\nAttention kids ages 4-10! Join our Caroling group as we sing songs of the season to greet Santa Claus at our Holiday Programs.<br \/>\nRegistration is from Oct. 11 to Nov. 1. Required practices will be on Tuesdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 6:30-7:00. Carolers need to be able to attend at least one of our three Holiday Programs which are on Dec. 1 and 2 from 6-8 and Dec. 3 from 10-noon.<br \/>\nCome join the fun and catch the Holiday Spirit!<br \/>\n<strong>An Event So Good It&#8217;s Scary<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce again this year the Library will be participating in &#8220;An Event So Good It&#8217;s Scary.&#8221;<br \/>\nOn Halloween October 31st from 3:30-5:30 the Library will be handing out treats to children to help promote safe trick-or-treating.<br \/>\n<strong>Library Closures<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Library will be closed on Saturday Nov. 5th for a maintenance project and on Friday November 11th for the Veteran&#8217;s Day Holiday.
