{"id":25419,"date":"2011-10-27T20:52:21","date_gmt":"2011-10-28T00:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=25419"},"modified":"2011-10-27T20:52:21","modified_gmt":"2011-10-28T00:52:21","slug":"museum-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/museum-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Receive Kiwanis grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For kids programs at Museum<!--more--><br \/>\nIn a sense, Kiwanis and kids are almost synonymous, as the former directs much attention to the activities of young people.<br \/>\nThat interest was evident recently when Diane Carlson, director of Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum in St. Johns, accepted a check for $300.00 in support of that facility\u2019s ongoing schedule of activities, programs and tours designed especially to interest the minds of youngsters. Particular programs frequently center on the theme of a timely holiday period, emphasizing history and crafts related to the time.<br \/>\nIn comments to the Kiwanis club while accepting the grant, Ms Carlson explained that currently the kid\u2019s program theme will be \u201cChristmas on the Home Front.\u201d<br \/>\nA check was presented to Ms Carlson by Marilyn Thelen, chair of Kiwanis Youth Services.
