Ho! Ho! Our Holiday Programs are almost here! At the beginning of each program the Caroling Kids @ Briggs will perform 3 musical selections and then we will all welcome Santa with an enthusiastic chorus of Jingle Bells. Santa will tell some “up north” stories and then visit with each child. There will be games involving balls, bells, spoons, rings and lots of fun things…there will be crafts with glue sticks, foam, markers, paper, bells, beads, stickers, and maybe even glitter. The programs are Thursday, December 1st, 6-8pm or Friday, December 2nd 6-8pm or Saturday, December 3rd, 10-Noon.
Registration is not required for this free program. We invite you to share some holiday cheer with us at the library.
Season for Giving and for Thanks
Many avenues for gift giving are available at Briggs Public Library. Our Mitten Tree still has room for new mittens or gloves (Homemade or Store-bought), scarves and hats for the less fortunate. The collection is for all ages, adult or child. The collection runs until Monday, December 12th and the items received will be donated to local charity organizations.
Briggs Public Library is also a “Toys for Tots” location accepting new, unwrapped toys and gift items for young children through teens in the box near the Library Desk. For the “hard-to-buy-for” people on your list, remember that the Library is glad to receive gifts in honor or memory of individuals.
This is the last year to take advantage of the tax benefits associated with giving to a non-profit on your Michigan income taxes. Please consider the Library when making your end of the year donations.
Thank you to all the individuals who have supported the various Library fundraisers this past year. Most recently your generosity allowed the Library to purchase a new laptop and projector for use in teaching computer classes and doing outreach programs and the Library was able to add more than $450 worth of large print books to our collection. These enhancements to Library services would not have been possible without your support. Thank You!
Tween Program
There is still time to sign up for A Candlelit Christmas on Monday, December 5th from 7-8pm. The program is for Tweens (ages 9-12) and will include a story read by candlelight, great snacks, a Christmas trivia game, and a chance to design and make your own candle.
Library Closures
The Library will close on Wednesday December 7th from 11:30 – 1:00 for a City employee function. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns during this brief closure. The Library will also be closed on December 23rd, 24th and 26th for the Christmas Holiday.

Contact Information:
Library Director: Sara Morrison
Phone: 989-224-4702 * Fax: 989-224-1205
E-mail: smorrison@briggspubliclibrary.org
Street address: 108 E Railroad * Saint Johns, MI 48879

[25,9

post-25872","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-briggs","category-news
["GET
