They&#8217;ve greeted me each morning, saying hello from outside my window to provide cheer during hours spent writing stories.<br \/>\nThey moved indoors two days ago, eager for a well-earned rest in the cool basement where they will slumber peacefully through the coming winter months.<br \/>\nThe change to their new home came just in time, as things turned out.<br \/>\nTuesday&#8217;s rain and wind would not have been friendly to the pretty posies, and the wet, heavy snow that fell throughout the evening hours would surely have broken their stems &#8211; and hearts.<br \/>\nSnow blanketed the spot this morning where the flower pots had sat &#8211; lots and lots of snow. The whiteness, bending down evergreen branches and glistening in the sun, was pretty in its own way, but I certainly miss seeing my geraniums.<br \/>\nVisiting in the basement just isn&#8217;t quite the same, and apparently my green thumb isn&#8217;t green enough to over-winter geraniums on the plant stand next to my desk.
