Thelen, D. Orland Barton<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Patricia (O\u2019Brien) Koenigsknecht<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/k13_patricia.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Patricia Koenigsknecht, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born October 7, 1921 in Hubbardston, MI the daughter of Patrick and Catherine (O\u2019Connell) O\u2019Brien.<br \/>\nPatricia was a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Fowler, MI. She was a member of The Daughters of Isabella and The Christian Mothers. She was a home-maker most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards and attending her grandchildren\u2019s events, especially sporting events. She was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan and was very proud of her Irish heritage.<br \/>\nOn May 15, 1954 she married Paul J. Koenigsknecht at St. John the Baptist Church in Hubbardston, MI and he preceded her in death in 2004 after 50 years of marriage.<br \/>\nShe was also predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ken Thelen; two sisters, Marie and Sr. Patrice O\u2019Brien; two brothers, John and James O\u2019Brien; brother-in-law, Richard Hummel; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Margaret Schrauben, and Melvin and Juliana Simon; brother-in-law, John Klein and Monsignor Albert Koenigsknecht.<br \/>\nSurviving are three sons, Frank (Theresa) of DeWitt, Patrick (Martha) of Fenton, and Tim (Robin) of Fowler; ten grandchildren; Brendan and BrigidThelen, Beth, Sarah and Laura Koenigsknecht, Catherine and Christopher Koenigsknecht, and Kelly (Patrick), Kevin and Ryan Koenigsknecht; brother, Kieran O\u2019Brien; sister, Florence Hummel; sister-in-law, Mary Klein; and brother and sister-in-law, George and Joan Koenigsknecht.<br \/>\nThe family would like express their appreciation to the Sparrow Hospital nurses, Jamie and Michelle. We would also like to thank the staff of Country Living for the care given to our mother over the last year.<br \/>\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler, MI with Fr. John Klein presiding, and Fr. William Koenigsknecht and Fr. Dennis Howard concelebrating. Burial will follow the services at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery.<br \/>\nThe family will receive friends Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a rosary held at 3 and 8 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home-George Chapel in Fowler, MI. Memorials may be made to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund or to Maryknoll Missionaries.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by Osgood Funeral Homes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Evelyn V. Thelen<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/thelen_evelyn.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Born June 23, 1923, to Edward and Clotilda (Miller) Thelen of Westphalia, Evie went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2011, at the age of 88 after a brief battle with cancer. She married the love of her life Eugene in 1944. They were successful dairy farmers in Fowler with Eugene working in the fields and Evelyn keeping six children well-fed, safe and healthy.<br \/>\nEvie was a long-time member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler and a member of the Christian Mothers. She will be greatly missed, especially by the many grandchildren who stopped in often for Grandma\u2019s homemade pancakes and cookies.  .<br \/>\nShe is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Eugene; sons, Gordon (Ruth) Thelen, Jerry (Linda) Thelen, Michael (Denise) Thelen, and Brian (Rose) Thelen; daughters, Alice (Kermit) Wheeler, and Joanie (Bob) Nelson; 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers Eugene (Margie) Thelen, and Ken (Char) Thelen, sister Ermaline Fedewa, brother-in-law Roman Feldpauch, and sister-in-law Josephine Thelen.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her infant grandson, John Thelen; brothers Melvin, Leonard, Clem and Louis Thelen, and sisters, Marina Feldpausch, Julie Feldpausch and Delores Kentfield.  Special thanks to Sparrow Home Hospice for their gentle and compassionate care. Evie asked us all to remember that the Lord is our Shepherd, and that we need nothing beyond His love and mercy.<br \/>\n<strong>Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church<\/strong> in Fowler, with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. Orland Barton<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/barton_orland.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>D. Orland Barton, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the age of 75. Born on June 2, 1936, in Plainwell, MI. The son of Orland and Dortha (Kelso) Barton. Orland married Eva Anderson, May 5, 2006 in Clinton County and she survives him. He was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. He retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy, then retired with over 10 years service as Postmaster in Ovid.<br \/>\nHe is survived by daughter, Mary (Ben) Sexton, son, William (Renee) Barton, step-daughters, Sheree (William) Stevens, Kathryn Louth, grandchildren, Erica, Christie, Nick, Corey, Aaron, Chelsey, several great grandchildren and his mother, Dortha Barton. Orland was preceded in death by his father, brother, Bruce Barton, and first wife, Marlene Kay Barton.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Houghton Chapel in Ovid. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service Saturday.
