Lacina, Nancy M. Rudy, Lisa Rice-Conklin, Lucille Frances Lawrence<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Edward L. \u201cFerd\u201d Schafer<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/schafer_edward.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Edward L. \u201cFerd\u201d Schafer, 84, died, December 14, 2011. Born on January 18, 1927 in Fowler Michigan. He was the son of Edward and Laura (Goerge) Schafer. Ferd Served in Germany and Korea and retired from G.M. in 1984.<br \/>\nFerd is survived by his brothers, Michael (Irene) Schafer, John Schafer, Jerome (Connie) Schafer, sisters, Agnes Schafer, Theresa Stump and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Elizabeth Kramer, Rita Walker, Martha Fedewa, one brother, Joseph Schafer, and brothers-in-law, Clayton Kramer, Bernard Walker, Steve Fedewa, Delbert Schafer, and Leon Stump.<br \/>\nFuneral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler, with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, 7-9 p.m. with rosary being prayed 8 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with rosary being prayed at 3 p.m., and a scripture service at 8 p.m., at the Goerge Chapel of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneral.com\/ \"target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a> in Fowler. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Kristie M. Lacina<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/lacina_kristie.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Kristie M. Lacina, passed away December 13, 2011, at the age of 28, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born, March 2, 1983 in Owosso, MI. The daughter of Robert and Catherine (Dumond) Lacina.<br \/>\nKristie is survived by her parents, Kathy and Bob Lacina of Ovid, sister, Jamie Lacina of Dewitt, Fianc\u00e9, Kyle Gregory, step-son, Carson Gregory, grandmother, Dorine Lacina, grandfather, Harry Dumond, aunts, Nancy Kozan, Jackie Hollenback, uncle, Steve (Donna) Lacina, and cousins, Traci Carroll, Nikki Fuller, Annette Tkaczyk, Jeff Hollenback, Billie Jo Hollenback, and Tracy (Ryan) Wildermuth. Kristie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Lacina, grandmother, Olive Dumond, and uncles, Gail Dumond and Eugene Hollenback.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Houghton Chapel of The Osgood Funeral Homes in Ovid, MI, with Pastor Cal Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends, 2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Rudy<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/rudy_nancy.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Nancy M. Rudy died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Charlotte at the age of 73. Nancy was born in Pellston, Michigan on April 14, 1938, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Greenier) Wilson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Nancy loved to spend time with her family, her cat, Muffin, play cards and bingo, she also loved to go camping. Nancy married Duane Rudy, Sr. in Pellston, Michigan on June 27, 1955 and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2007.<br \/>\nNancy is survived by her daughters, Denise (Joe) Bancroft of Perry, MI, Debra (James) Lumbert and Brenda (Terry) Birdsley of St. Johns; sons, Mark (Ellen) Rudy of Elsie, Duane (Mary) Rudy or Alanson, MI and Scott (Heather) Rudy of Charlotte, MI, 30 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Nancy is also survived by brothers, Ronald \u201cPinkie\u201d (Susan) Wilson, Donald \u201cBlackie\u201d Wilson, William \u201cBilly\u201d (Jill) Wilson and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson, Dakota Rudy; sisters, Betty Jenkins, Maxine Clapp and Delores Jurstik; brothers, Wilbur, Bob, Harold and Chuck Wilson.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 14 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy will be officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday with a rosary prayed at 7 P.M. Rice-Conklin, age 43, was born in Lansing, MI on January 21, 1968, the daughter of Phillip and Rose (Corner) Rice, loving mother, sister, spouse and dear friend. On December 9, 2011 Lisa overcame (We don\u2019t feel like she lost) her four year courageous battle with breast cancer. She arrived on the wings of angels to be greeted by those who have gone before her, Richard and Hazel Corner, Phyllis Fabella, Wilma Flynn, Mable McCullan, William Rice, Jr., Marjorie Eddie, Mary Wilcox, Ralph and Anna Peseka (Eric\u2019s grandparents) and Tom Moore (Rhett and Randall\u2019s grandpa) and many others.<br \/>\nIn her transition, Lisa was surrounded by her 3 precious children, Rhett, Randall and Jakob Blemaster; her life long soulmate and best friend, Eric Conklin, parents, Phil and Rose Rice, sister\/bestfriend, Brandi Blumerich, Eric\u2019s mother, Phyllis (Paseka) Rewerts, Aunt Evelyn and numerous special friends including, the Blemaster and Moore families and her daily companions, Ruby and Weinna.<br \/>\nLisa will not be remembered by where she lived, Maple Rapids or where she went to school, DeWitt High School, Class of 1986, or even for what she did for a living, but rather for the footprints she has left behind in the lives of each individual she encountered as she journeyed through life.<br \/>\nKnown by many, what we will remember most about our mother, daughter, sister, friend and soulmate is her unforgettable laughter, her incredible smile, her strength and her ability to make complete strangers feel like life long pals.<br \/>\nLisa had a love for the outdoors, especially when it involved her kids. Together they enjoyed gardening, canoeing, fishing, camping and walking the Mackinaw Bridge.<br \/>\nWhile she will be sorely missed by her children and many who knew her, there is no doubt that she slid into heaven with her boisterous voice and stomped her foot by saying \u201cLet\u2019s get this party started!!\u201d<br \/>\nLisa, we all say thank you for making this world a better and brighter place. We all love you\u2026we all miss you, we all will see you again. Today beautiful one, we celebrate who you were in this life!<br \/>\nPlease come and celebrate Lisa\u2019s life with us. She was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on March 17, 1933, the daughter of Alfred and Olive (Palmer) DeHart. Lucille settled in Ovid in 1979 and married Millard Lawrence on May 30, 1980 and he survives her. Lucille found many pleasures in life. She loved her family, nature, music, a great variety of crafts and she also enjoyed taxidermy. She touched many through her kindness, compassion and understanding. She was a retired rehabilitation nursing supervisor. After retirement, she became as administrative secretary and treasurer for Airco Credit Union. She later became the Rainbow Lake treasurer, realtor and a homemaker.<br \/>\nSurviving her are her son, Michael (Debbie) Maher of Naperville, IL; daughter, Patricia Kavalir of Rainbow Lake and stepson, Brian Lawrence of Owosso. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keri Anne (Richard) Buscemi of Rainbow Lake, Michael Raymond Maher of Chicago, IL, Kristen Maher, Ryan Maher and Kevin Maher of Naperville, IL; great grandchildren, Emilie Anne and Elizabeth Rose Buscemi; cousins, Sally Atkins and Pauline Hebeler of Ovid. Lucille was preceded in death by her youngest son, John Maher and son-in-law, Mark Kavalir. She will be greatly missed.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneral.com\/ \"target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Home<\/a>, 104 E.
