Clinton Ave. in downtown St. Johns. The party will include story times, refreshments, book selling and signing, and more.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/12feb\/cave1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><br \/>\nThe second event is a \u201cHome in the Cave\u201d story time as part of \u201cDr. Seuss Read Across America Day\u201d Saturday, March 3, 1 to 4 pm, at Schuler Books, 1982 Grand River Ave, Okemos. The event will include a costumed \u201cCat in the Hat\u201d character and story time, plus refreshments.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/12feb\/cave2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignleft size-full\" \/>\u201cHome in the Cave,\u201d released February 10 by Sylvan Dell Publishing and illustrated by Shennen Bersani, is a story of friendship, caring, growing up, and the fascinating life in a cave. Baby Bat loves his cave home and never wants to leave it. While practicing flapping his wings one night, he falls, and Pluribus Packrat rescues him. They then explore the deepest, darkest corners of the cave where they meet amazing animals\u2014animals that don\u2019t need eyes to see or colors to hide from enemies. Baby Bat learns how important bats are to the cave habitat and how other cave-living critters rely on them for their food. Will Baby Bat finally venture out of the cave to help the other animals?<br \/>\nHalfmann is the award-winning author of more than thirty fiction and nonfiction children\u2019s books. Other recent titles include \u201cStar of the Sea,\u201d \u201cGood Night, Little Sea Otter,\u201d \u201cFur and Feathers,\u201d \u201cLittle Skink\u2019s Tail,\u201d and \u201cSeven Miles to Freedom: The Robert Smalls Story.\u201d Before becoming a children\u2019s author, Halfmann was a daily newspaper reporter, children\u2019s magazine editor, and a creator of coloring and activity books for Golden Books.
