\nI can be a really sweet little lady. If you are sitting down, sometimes I come over and plant my head in your lap so that you can\u2019t help but give me some attention. And I really like it when someone scratches behind my ears and pets me and tells me what a pretty girl I am!
\nI\u2019m a pretty good watchdog, too. If I see anyone near our yard, I give out the typical coonhound bay to make sure everyone knows that we may have an \u201cinvader\u201d. Which reminds me, I do follow my nose so you should either have a fenced yard or keep on a leash or a tie-out so you don\u2019t lose me like my previous owners did.
\nI get along with other dogs and even play quite a bit with them. I can be a little too rough when I am outside so if you have any little dogs, you should watch so that I don\u2019t terrorize them. But if you only have medium to large dogs, then it isn\u2019t anything you have to worry about. When I am in the house, I just want to lie around. In fact, I prefer to nap in my crate so you will want to keep the door open so that I can relax inside of my \u201cden\u201d.
\nSo far I prefer to go outside to do my business. Since I was an unclaimed stray in a shelter, no one has any information on my history so they can\u2019t tell you if I was kept outside in a kennel or if I lived in a house. Either way, I definitely like being around my humans so living in a house is what I need to keep me happy.
\nSince I am not always good with the really small dogs, my foster mom suspects that I might not be good with cats.

Hiya! I’m the Smokey-dude. My foster mom says I’m awesome with a capital A. The humans left me at a shelter…so APB is gonna find me a great new home.
\nI’m housebroken – I had a couple of accidents the first couple of days, but I ask to go out, and once those silly ole humans learned how to pay attention, it’s all good! And I’m quiet and well behaved – I found the couch this week, and that’s my kind of spot to hang out!
\nThere’s just one ‘lil thing tho. I’m blind. Yep. Can’t see a darn thing. But I’m SUCH a smart boy that I learned my way all ’round my foster home really quick!! One of the humans thought I was faking, I get around so good! And I looooooove to go roam all around the yard!
\nSo, we’re gonna go see the doggie eye doctor, and see if he can tell us why I can’t see stuff. Watch for an update on me after we see the doc!
\nUpdate:
\nSo the eye doctor says – yep, he can’t see! I have something called PRA – progressive retinal atrophy…my retinas don’t work anymore. I also have a rare form of dry eye – my eyes make enough tears, so I passed that part of the test. But, the mucus layer of the tears isn’t good enough…so the tears are there, but they don’t stick to my eyes.
\nI’m on a medication called tacrolimus….my eyes are feeling much better now! But I need to be on this medicine forever and ever, please check with your vet before you apply to adopt me!
\nI’m good with other dogs, but I don’t play with them. I’m crate trained, and eat in a crate, but I’m such a good boy that I’m only in there to eat. No one knows how I am with cats, or ‘lil kids.
\nUpdate 1-2012:
\nThat bed over there? That’s mine. See, it’s cold out, and it’s by the heat duct! My foster mom says I’ve had a couple of challenges,and come thru them like a champ! First, I had my teeth cleaned, and they found something in my mouth that shouldn’t be there- a growth. It was a long, anxious week..but it came back benign! I don’t know what she was worried about, I wasn’t worried at all. The vet looked at my blood, and said it’s fat – I have hyperlipidemia. So, I needed to start a low fat diet. I’m not picky about my dinner, but I gotta say, Blue Buffalo senior is good stuff, and it’s only 8% fat!
