Baker College of Owosso is offering a variety of workshops for businesses and the community in March and April.”Social Media and Web Marketing for Small and Large Businesses” will show you how to set up and use both Facebook and Twitter to help market your company. Learn basic Search Engine Optimization tips to help potential customers find you on the web. This workshop will meet Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Bentley Campus from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
\n“Cloud Computing and Google: Docs” will help you navigate today’s computing and movement to smaller devices which are capable of accessing “cloud” based documents and applications. Learn how to use word processing, presentation and spreadsheet documents using Google Docs and access your documents from any computer or mobile device with internet access. This session will meet Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bentley Campus.
\n“Exceptional Customer Service” will teach customer care and techniques for delivering extraordinary customer service vital to the success of any business or organization. Learn how to identify and meet the needs of both internal and external customers and assure customer satisfaction through effective communication on the telephone and in person. This session will meet April 13, 2012 at the Bentley Campus from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
\nAdditional workshops include a variety of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 programs to help support your business and home activities ranging from Basic to Advanced levels. Sessions include Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint. \nBaker offers industry specific training <\/strong>
\nBaker College of Owosso is offering a variety of industry specific workshops in March and April. “Hazardous Waste Management and Compliance” will cover annual RCRA requirements under 40CFR as well as USDOT training per 49CFR. Participants will learn how to properly identify, ship and dispose of RCRA hazardous waste. Topics will include: handling wastes generated in your organization, mandatory EPA regulations, annual RCRA hazardous waste management regulations, contingency plans, DOT Federal hazardous material regulations\/awareness, and more. This workshop will meet March 23, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Baker College Bentley Campus Board Room.
\n“Fundamentals of MIG Welding” will focus on shielded metal arc welding, torch cutting and plasma cutting in a hands-on lab setting. This two-part session will meet March 6 and 8, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
