\nThis little girl is really amazing. She is blind in one eye and has very limited sight in the other. In addition to her handicap, she was raised in a puppy mill so she was scared of humans and had never lived in a house. She bumped into a lot of things when she was first here but after a few months, she has become very good at navigating around even in new places. She has learned to go outside all by herself and knows now that she is supposed to go potty outside. She is crated when no one is home because we are not completely convinced she has the whole housetraining thing down but she has learned to love to go outside and knows what is expected of her when she is out there. Sometimes she wants to come right back in so that she can get attention from humans but sometimes she has fun staying outside a little longer.
\nSince she is use to other dogs, she gets along with them really well and often plays with them. She has learned quickly about doggie toys and will take one in a doggie bed to have it all to herself \u2013 plus she doesn\u2019t lose it and can easily find it if it is \u201cstashed\u201d in her bed.
\nBuffy now loves human attention and often comes \u201cbegging\u201d for it. If you are sitting down, she likes to put her legs on your lap and gets all wiggly and happy when you talk to her and pet her. She can be so cute and it is a joy to see what a happy little dog she has become.

Topaz <\/strong>

\nTopaz’s mom was picked up as a stray and ended up in a shelter in Reed City. She was obviously pregnant, but no one claimed her. She came to her foster home to have her babies. She had five healthy puppies who sure looked like they are pure beagle. The older they get, however, the more it looks like their dad was a basset.
\nTopaz is a happy go-lucky little girl. She loves attention and loves to play, play, play, but she does have an independent streak and sometimes likes to do her own thing. Are you looking to add a baby beagle\/basset to your family? Take a look at Topaz. She has been spayed and has had all her puppy shots.
\nIn the posted pictures one of Topaz’s eyes looks rather red and inflamed. She developed a case of cherry eye which has been surgically corrected. She was recovering from this surgery when the pictures were taken. Her eye is totally healed and looks completely normal now.
\nBeagles and bassets aren’t very good at staying home. Their nose catches a scent and they take off. Because of this a fenced yard is a must. \nAs you might have noticed, I\u2019m a beagle. If you\u2019ve never met a beagle before, it means I\u2019m sweet, adorable, playful, loveable, and a real busybody!
\nOh, I almost forgot, my name is Tedward, but my foster mommy mostly calls me Beagle.
\nDid I mention that I\u2019m playful? I\u2019ll play with almost anything but I love my rubber ball the most! I could spend hours chewing on in it or chasing it. Do you have toys with stuffing? I\u2019d like to tear the stuffing out of \u2018em! Sometimes my foster parents say I play with the wrong things but you\u2019ll have to forgive me when you look into my sweet, sweet face. I\u2019m trying to learn but sometimes it\u2019s harder for beagles.
\nI\u2019m very friendly with other dogs, unless they get too rough, and I\u2019m well behaved with cats. I love to be outside and I\u2019ll ask to go out a lot so I need you to give me lots of attention and take me for walks so I can sniff out the animals in your neighborhood. I\u2019m sometimes subtle when I ask to go out and if you miss the cue I\u2019ll go inside. We\u2019re working on that too.
\nFoster mommy says that since I\u2019m a beagle and follow my nose, I\u2019ll need a securely fenced yard at my forever home. You got that? Cuz we\u2019ll have a ball together. Remember, I\u2019m Ted the beagle and you\u2019re gonna love me.
