Instead foster parents need to have a reliable income and not expect to get rich from being a foster parent. You can be single, married, work full or part-time, be retired, have extra space in your home and can pick the ages of children you would be willing to foster.<br \/>\nMore importantly you need to:<br \/>\n\u00b7 Provide a safe caring home for a child\/children<br \/>\n\u00b7 Be flexible<br \/>\n\u00b7 Work in collaboration with others<br \/>\n\u00b7 Share your time and love<br \/>\n\u00b7 Be a good listener, be objective, and non-judgmental<br \/>\n\u00b7 Above all, emphasize the positive to the child\/children<br \/>\nDedicate your heart to a child\/children that will remember your kindness for a lifetime.
