{"id":29815,"date":"2012-07-12T20:57:53","date_gmt":"2012-07-13T00:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=29815"},"modified":"2012-07-12T20:57:53","modified_gmt":"2012-07-13T00:57:53","slug":"flowers-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/flowers-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Pretty flowers greet guests July 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/12july\/flowersth.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignleft size-full\" \/>At Andy T&#8217;s Second Annual Garden Tour<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Darlene Sheldon picked up lots of gardening and landscaping tips last year when she attended Andy T&#8217;s Farm Market Garden Tour.<br \/>\nNow, as a participant in the 2012 event, she&#8217;s eagerly awaiting the chance to provide a similar learning experience for flower-lovers attending this year&#8217;s tour on Sunday, July 15.<br \/>\n&#8220;I really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful gardens and different flowering plants, and thought to myself then that I&#8217;d like to be part of Andy T&#8217;s Garden Tour the next time,&#8221; says the St. Johns resident who has a definite &#8216;green thumb&#8217; as evidenced by the 45 different varieties of cone flowers &#8211; her specialty &#8211; and hundreds of other plantings that fill every nook and cranny of her garden. &#8220;Taking care of a space like this is time consuming &#8211; and a lot of work &#8211; but it&#8217;s really relaxing for me. I love gardening.&#8221;<br \/>\nThat kind of passion for plants is what prompted Sunday and Andy Todosciuk to launch the tour last year.<br \/>\n&#8220;We had talked about doing a tour for quite awhile and decided to give it a try last year,&#8221; Sunday says about the tour that involves long-time Andy T&#8217;s customers who are willing to open up their gardens to guests. &#8220;The response was so positive that we&#8217;re making it part of our annual event schedule.&#8221;<br \/>\nThere is no cost for the tour that includes 10 stops along with the landscape and garden displays at Andy T&#8217;s Farm Market. The tour runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can visit as many stops as they choose and devise their own route.<br \/>\nThis year&#8217;s tour features a wide range of landscape and gardening techniques like Debbie Foote&#8217;s more than 8,000 square-feet of flowers nestled amidst groves of mature Blue Spruce and White Pine trees that&#8217;s a wildlife haven, to Sam and Joan Pardee&#8217;s assortment of garden spaces that include a terraced rock garden, pond area with unique perennials &#8211; and a fairy and gnome garden.<br \/>\nIn addition to Andy T&#8217;s Farm Market, tour stops include: Bart Post, 1303 S. Clinton Ave., St. Johns; Darlene Sheldon, 610 N. Lansing St., St. Johns; Kurt and Corey Gartside, 2719 Steel Road, St. Johns; Debbie Foote, 3858 W. French Road, St. Johns; Dan Matson, 202 Ewen, Maple Rapids; Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 545 N. Maple St., Fowler; Sarah Powers and family, 8550 S. Grove Road, DeWitt; Dale Daley, 2707 E.
