Pageant Tickets, Quilt Events and Photo Contest
\nSince the Mint Festival Pageant is earlier this year (Tuesday, July 24), pageant tickets are on sale for a very limited time. The pageant will be held at DeWitt High School in the auditorium and will begin at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:00 pm). Tickets are $8.50 for general seating and are available for purchase at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce office at 1013 S US 27 in St. Johns.
\nDo you have a family heirloom or a quilt you created yourself? Then consider displaying it at the Quilt Show during the Mint Festival. Entry forms are available from the Chamber of Commerce or you can print one off the webpage at www.clintoncountychamber.org\/mint<\/a>. They are due at the Chamber of Commerce office by Friday, August 3. With your entry form you should include a brief write up about the quilt. Festival goers will select a “People’s Choice” and that entry will win a prize. The quilt show will be monitored by volunteers during festival hours and all quilts will be securely locked up at night. The Quilt Show will be open all hours of the festival – entries will need to be delivered to Smith Hall on the county fairgrounds on Thursday, August 9 between 3-6 pm.
\nAlso included in the Quilt Show is a Wall Hanging Quilt Challenge. Entries must be 60″ X 60″ or smaller and utilize the theme “Oh My Stars”. Use your wildest imagination and show us how you see Stars.
\nThe Mint Festival is also seeking entries for their photo contest. Photos can be of anything in Michigan. The photo must be at least 8″ X 10″ and must be matted. You can submit up to five photos. Festival attendees will select the winner(s) by voting for their favorite(s). The winners will have their photos on the Mint Festival webpage for one year and their photos will be displayed at the Chamber office for one year. Entries are due at the Chamber of Commerce office by Friday August 3, 2012.
