{"id":29937,"date":"2012-07-19T20:58:14","date_gmt":"2012-07-20T00:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=29937"},"modified":"2012-07-19T20:58:14","modified_gmt":"2012-07-20T00:58:14","slug":"credit-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/credit-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Gift Shop opens new customer service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/12july\/credith.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignleft size-full\" \/>Accept debit and credit cards<!--more--><br \/>\nGrab your credit\/debit card and your volunteer cap and head to Sparrow Clinton Hospital Gift Shop where either item will be readily accepted \u2013 credit cards and volunteers! \u201cAs our average sale size has increased over the years, we\u2019ve had a growing request for card payments,\u201d explained Chery Goff, Auxiliary member and gift shop treasurer. \u201cNow, since our association with the Sparrow network, it became easy for us to enlist in a non-cash payment program.\u201d<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/12july\/credit.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Auxiliary member Judy Minner, left, completes a transaction for Sheryl Parker on the new accounting system at Sparrow Clinton Hospital Gift Shop.<\/em><br \/>\nThe system is completely installed, up and running, and gift shop volunteers are undergoing training. \u201cWe recently lost a large sale of several items because the buyer wanted to use her credit card and we were unable to accommodate.\u201d<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Auxiliary members are spreading the word that recruiting volunteer help at the gift shop is high on the group\u2019s list. The Gift Shop is operated by Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary members. However, persons wishing to donate some volunteer hours need not be Auxiliary members to work in the Gift Shop. They may simply sign on a scheduled period or, perhaps be identified as an \u201cat call\u201d possibility. Hours worked will be recorded and service recognition will be accrued.<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s still a little ahead of the season,\u201d observed Ms. Goff, \u201cbut the new credit system and volunteer recruit efforts are in preparation for the fall and holiday periods.
