‘Tween Program and more
\n‘Tweens bring your pillow and listen to Tales Around the Campfire on Tuesday August 14th at 7:00pm. The program will include moonlight stories, a fireside game, and campfire snacks of hot dogs and s’mores. Registration is required and open to youth ages nine to twelve.

\nBookaholics Book Club<\/strong>
\nThere is one more meeting for the summer session of the Bookaholics Book Club. Come to Bruno’s Bar in downtown St. Johns on Thursday, August 16th at 7:00pm to meet other book lovers and discuss “Early Bird: A Memoir of Premature Retirement.” This month’s selection is a comedic look at what happens when the 28 year-old author decides to “retire” to a Florida senior community. Copies of “Early Bird” are now available at the Briggs Library circulation desk, and the book club is open to all adult patrons age 21 and up.

\n“Reading Rocks” Toddler Story-time<\/strong>: Children ages 2-3 years old with a participating adult can join us in some rockin’ good fun with stories, music, and more. Program dates to choose from are: Wednesday morning sessions on August 29th – October 3rd from 10-10:30 or 11-11:30. A Thursday evening session is also available on August 30th – October 4th from 6:30-7. Registration is required and opens on Wednesday August 1st. Program dates & times are subject to the passage of the Bingham Township millage vote on August 7th.
\nGet Connected @ Briggs<\/strong>
\nThere are still spaces available for the library’s two new adult computer classes. Introduction to Microsoft Word 2007 is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1st, and E-mail for Beginners on Wednesday, August 8th. Both classes begin at 9am and will run for 90 minutes. We recommend participants have basic mouse and keyboarding skills, and be familiar with using the Internet prior to registration. Patrons are welcome to use their own laptop computers, but we ask they be using Microsoft Word 2007 version or newer. Separate registration is required for each class, and is open to all adult patrons with a valid library card.
\nGuessing Contest Winners<\/strong>
\nHugs and kisses make for sweet dreams\u2026there were 51 kisses and hugs in the jar. Toby Bourne guessed 52 and Parker Welch guessed 50. Aiden Karek and Hunter Paksi guessed 50 spoonfuls of “stardust” with the correct number being 62. The winners for the “Sandman” contest were Mark Dexter and Lily Sackrider with guesses of 159 and 182 with the correct number of bells at 170 1\/2! Lucas LaBean guessed the correct number of “31”sheep the farmer had placed in the display unit! There were 115 Teddy Grahams and KayVanzee guessed the closest with 112. Congratulations to all the winners so far.
\nLibrary Closure<\/strong>
\nThe Library will be closed on Saturday August 13th for the Mint Festival. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.<\/p>\n
