Call (517) 322-0030 to register for skills workshop. Cabin tours and blacksmithing demonstrations ongoing 11-3pm.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nWilderness Survival Skills<\/strong> by Dr. Larry Martin, 8\/18\/21, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.<br \/>\nWhat we call survival the Native Americans called daily living. Native Americans set the standard for surviving off the land. Learn how these people made bows and arrows, what food they obtained from nature, how they made shelter, stalked, built shelters, harvested medicinal plants, created snares, navigated, created fire without matches, called animals and fished.<br \/>\nWe will also discuss modern day equipment that can be helpful should the unexpected occur. This class will teach you how to survive using nature&#8217;s resources and your own creativity. Be better prepared so that you can enjoy nature more.<br \/>\nSkills Workshop begins at 11:00 a.m. and concludes at 3:00 p.m.<br \/>\nProgram is open to 6 years old to adult, children should be attended by an adult.<br \/>\nParticipants should sign up in advance and may bring a sack lunch. This workshop will be held at the Woldumar Nature Center, 5739 Old Lansing Road, Lansing MI 48917. Call to sign up at 517-322-0030 ext. 11.<br \/>\nThe Program is free but donations are welcome.
