Zemla, Judy M. Bierstetel, James G Salisbury, Max W. Thelen<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Jacob M. Zemla<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/zemla_jacob.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Jacob M. Zemla, 22, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 following an automobile accident. He was born February 1, 1990 in Owosso, Michigan, the son of James and Rebecca (Zwolensky) Zemla. Jacob married Brittany (Jones) on November 21, 2011 in St. Johns, Michigan and she survives him.<br \/>\nJacob is also survived by his daughter, Alvacie Zemla, parents, James and Rebecca Zemla of Elsie, siblings, Lisa Zemla of Flushing, Justen Zemla of DeWitt, Zachary Zemla of St. Johns, Scott (Kari) Zemla of Owosso, Christopher (Tanya) Zemla of Corunna, Wesley Beckman of Arizona, two grandmothers, Gertrude Zwolensky, Donna Donaldson and great grandfather, Bill Chanda. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Louis Zwolensky and William Zemla.<br \/>\nA Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid with Fr. Raymond Urbanek presiding. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Owosso. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Ovid. Bierstetel<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/bierstetel_judy.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Judy M. Bierstetel passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the age of 71. Born May 2, 1941 in St. Johns, MI, she was the daughter of Arnold and Casilda (Arens) Ruhl. Judy married David Bierstetel on July 27, 1963 in Fowler and he survives her.<br \/>\nJudy is also survived by her daughter, Jill (John) Peterson of St. Johns and son, Jeff (Jill) Bierstetel of Fowler, sisters, Nancy (John Whitekus) Ruhl and Elaine Miller, brother, Alan (Jan) Ruhl, seven grandchildren, Drew Bierstetel, Holly Bierstetel, Taylor Bierstetel, Trey Bierstetel, Britney Peterson, Emily Peterson, Jon Peterson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Ruhl.<br \/>\nFuneral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with Fr. Charlon Mason presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.<br \/>\nThe family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. and Friday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. with rosary being prayed at 3 and 8 on Thursday, 3 on Friday and a scripture service at 8 on Friday at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler. He was born in St. Johns on November 20, 1950 and graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1968. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in education and taught school in Chesaning, MI from 1972 until 1981. He moved to Los Angeles in 1981, teaching school in the Baldwin Park school district until his retirement in 2011.<br \/>\nHe is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Carol) Salisbury of St. Johns; one niece, Jackie (Mike) Fedewa of Lansing; one nephew, Chris Salisbury (Nicole Heath, fiance&#8217;) of Bannister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon H. (1977) and Grace A. (2006) Salisbury.<br \/>\nThere will be a memorial service for him on August 25, 2012 at the First Church of God in St. Johns. The service will begin at 11 am with family and friends visitation at 10 am.  He will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Max W. Thelen<\/strong><br \/>\nMax W. Thelen, age 77, passed away on August 12, 2012. He was born in Fowler on August 8, 1935, the son of Arnold and Rose (Snyder) Thelen. Max was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and loved the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Tigers.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his sisters, Gladys Schueller and Elsie Zuker both of St. Johns, nieces and nephews, Daniel Schueller, Kent Schueller, Ray Schueller, Jane Schueller, Nancy Zuker, Tom (Tamara) Zuker, Lee (Diane) Zuker, Kay (Russ) Held, Lynne (Ken) Frechen, 8 great nieces and nephews and uncle, Ed Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers in law, Clare Zuker and Paul Schueller.<br \/>\nFuneral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler, with Fr. William Koenigsknecht presiding, burial to follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Rosary at 3 and Vigil Service at 8, at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia, Fowler.
