{"id":30546,"date":"2012-08-23T20:52:45","date_gmt":"2012-08-24T00:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=30546"},"modified":"2012-08-23T20:52:45","modified_gmt":"2012-08-24T00:52:45","slug":"mmdhd-100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/mmdhd-100\/","title":{"rendered":"Back-to-school immunizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mid-Michigan Health Department<!--more--><br \/>\nWith the start of the new school year right around the corner and the back-to-school madness well under way, it&#8217;s easy to forget one important item on the to-do list, and that is to make sure the kids are up-to-date on their immunizations.<br \/>\nOf course all school-aged children need to be protected against vaccine preventable diseases, but it is especially important for those entering kindergarten or sixth grade, and for those changing school districts or starting college, as certain vaccinations may be mandatory.<br \/>\nDiseases such as Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), Diphtheria, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Meningitis and Chickenpox (Varicella) are all vaccine-preventable; so be sure to check with your health care provider or Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) if you are unsure whether or not your child is protected.<br \/>\nMid-Michigan District Health Department provides immunizations by appointment to those with Medicaid and without insurance.
