Storytime and more
\nPre-Reader Storytime<\/strong>: “Fall Mixed Up” Independent listeners ages 4, 5 & 6 years old are invited to join us and enjoy new stories and old favorites of the autumn season. Programs are on Tuesday mornings 10:30-11 am, October 9th to November 13th or Thursday evenings 6:30-7 pm, October 11th to November 15th. There will be crafts, music, games and maybe a snack too! Registration is required and began: Tuesday, September 11th.
\nGet Connected at Briggs<\/strong>
\nBriggs Library is offering a new, two-week, hands-on course all about Microsoft Word. Participants will learn how to create and save documents and folders, enter and edit text, perform a mail merge, print envelopes and labels, attach finished documents to e-mail messages, and much more. The class will meet from 9 – 10:30a.m. on Wednesday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 24th, with registration opening on Wednesday, September 26th. This free program is available to all adult patrons with a valid library card, though we do ask patrons with laptop computers be using Microsoft Word 2007 version or newer, and we recommend all participants have basic mouse and keyboarding skills prior to signing up for this class.
\nSchwan’s Fundraiser<\/strong>
\nThe Schwan’s truck will be in front of the Briggs Public Library on Wednesday, September 26th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to assist the library in raising funds for the purchase of materials. Up to 20% of the funds taken in from the fundraiser will be donated to the Library. There are four ways you can participate in the fundraiser:
\n1. Purchase items the day of the event.
\n2. Pick up a paper order form from the Library, select items you wish to purchase and turn it back into the Library by Wednesday September 19th. Items will be delivered to the Library the day of the event and payment can be made at that time.
\n3. Reserve products online for pick up at the Library the day of the event. Go to www.schwansfundraising.com<\/a> and use campaign Id: 40291.
\n4. Order a gift certificate(s) by calling 1-888-SCHWANS, inform the representative you want to purchase a gift card(s) and provide the campaign Id: 40291 or go to www.schwan’s.com<\/a>, click on the gift card link and follow the directions including entering the campaign Id: 40291 on the right side of the screen under Gift Cards for Fund Raising and click submit. The certificate will ship to address of your choice. Gift certificates are a great way to help the library and still support your local driver if you are already receiving delivery at your residence. \nThe Bookaholics selection for September is now available at the library circulation desk.
