Arriving at the gym on Saturday evening, I was met by Jason Gnegy who escorted me to the gym. We entered what felt like to me was a tunnel. WOW, I thought , glow-lite decorations and even a robot greeted me and I was amazed at this transformation.
\nEntering the gym, I was in awe as I saw the unloaded decorations from the night before, all put in their proper place and I knew that all the hard work from the Student Council was paying off.
\nTaking it all in, I moved about the dance floor taking pictures of dancing couples, decorations and visiting with some of the prom-goers. I met up with Hannah Schnieder and Paige Hufnagel and asked what they thought of the Homecoming Dance. Paige said that the Theme of Defying Gravity was awesome and the decorations were really great. Hannah agreed and stated that they were both looking forward to Homecoming as they are now both seniors.
\nI decided to check out the cafeteria where the King, Queen and representatives met for their line-up to the gym. At 10pm the crowd parted on the dance floor to make an aisle for the announcement of the group. In couples, the representatives along with the King and Queen made their way to the specially made stage with a beautiful backdrop. Parents of this group were on hand to watch and take pictures, beaming at their son or daughter.
\nAfter one more circle of the floor it was time for me to leave. What a success I thought for all the hard work the Student Council and Jason Gnegy had put into this. As I said on decorating night, I was sure this would be a success and it was.
