\nI’ve been a life long fan of the Detroit Tigers except for a couple of years. I remember players such a Hank Aguirre, Jim Bunning, Paul Foytack, Billy Hoeft, Frank Lary (the Yankee killer), Don Mossi, Ray Narleski, Red Wilson, Frank Boling, Harvey Kuenn, Norm Cash, and Al Kaline to name a few.
\nThose few years I didn’t pay any attention to them is when I felt they fielded a minor league team when Tom Monahan was the owner. We are lucky that Mike Ilitch owns the team now.
\nThis year’s disappointment in the World Series happens. We don’t like it but we’re lucky to get that far. A whole bunch of baseball teams were all done in the middle of the season.
\nSo what do we say to ease our pain? Wait until next year. That’s always what a true fan says. We should never give up on a team with that much talent. The ownership did their job and now it’s time for the players to do theirs.
\nSo Leyland’s coming back next year . . . good. We still have to change some of the personnel he had to work with and get rid of Gene Lamont, third base coach, he’s horrible. Lamont sending Fielder home after he rounded third base still brings back nightmares. Jimmy Smokes was too loyal to some of the players who let him down. Get rid of them.
\nJimmy Smokes is the nickname Ray Bentley (Michigan Panthers & Buffalo Bills) gave Jim Leyland who is known to light up a cigarette or two during a game. I’d be chain-smoking cigars if I were the manager.
\nI get a kick out of listening to Bentley on the Bakita & Bentley radio show. He’s a pure humorist.<\/p>\n

I had a dentist appointment this week and I wasn’t looking forward to it. My complaint, I noticed staining on the back of my front teeth, I’ve never had that before. I was due a teeth cleaning anyway so Betty made an appointment. In my weird way of thinking I figured that stained teeth was the beginning of the dying process. First my teeth and then the rest of me.
\nI drank a ton of ice tea this summer. Betty made a pitcher of Sun tea every day. I read up on it and found that tea will stain teeth so I hoped that was the problem. Turns out it was.
\nEven though the instruments the hygienist used look small they seem huge in my mouth. The instruments used for cleaning plaque turned into pickaxes and the hydro-dental instrument used to remove the stain turn into a jack hammer. I was very happy with the results and now I have my crooked but clean smile back.
\nMoral of the story, watch your tea drinking because it will scare the hell out of you if you don’t.<\/p>\n

And Furthermore:
\nI predicted the Detroit Lions would go 12-4 this year. Well, they’ve already lost four games so there’s no more room for another loss. What do I do now? We’ll take it one game at a time and hope for the best. I had correctly predicted the outcome of their last two seasons so I can’t complain. I’ve been lucky but apparently not good.
\nI heard Oblama tell a crowd he’s a man of his word. How come that hasn’t showed up the last three and one-half years? All the things he said he would do didn’t happened. The only thing he’s accomplished was Oblamacare and that’s going bankrupt the nation. Now he says he needs four more years to do what he told us he’d do in his first four years. How can we believe that?
\nWhen you go to vote next Tuesday remember Benghazi. Another Oblama screw-up, he didn’t have their backs either.
\nThe congressional hearings on Benghazi start up November 15. I hope they dog it with the same enthusiasm that the news media had when they went after Nixon and Watergate. At least with that sorry event there were no body bags.
\nSince I was born Presidents Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and H. W. Bush did not complete two terms in office.
