Pre-Reader Storytime – Ropin’in Wild West Tales! and more
\nIndependent listeners: ages 4, 5, and 6 are “Wanted” to help us round up some fun with wild west stories. Sign on for Tuesday mornings, 10:30-11 am, January 15th to February 19th, 2012, OR Thursday evenings, 6:30-7 pm, January 17th to February 21st. We’ll don our cowboy hats and do some horsin’ around with stories, crafts, music, and maybe put on the feedbag with a snack or two. Registration is required and begins: Tuesday, December 18th, 2012. Hope to see you there pardner!
\nGet Connected @ Briggs<\/strong>
\nThe library is once again offering free adult computer classes. Computer Basics is a two-week course and will meet on Wednesday, January 9th and 16th from 9-10am. The class is designed for new computer users with little to no experience, and will cover basic computer parts and terms, correct usage of the mouse and keyboard, and tips for working with Windows 7. Registration for this program is required and begins Wednesday, December 19th for all adult patrons with a valid library card.
\nJr. Readers Book Club<\/strong>
\nYouth ages 7-9 are invited celebrate the Chinese New Year on Monday January 28th from 7:00-8:00pm. Registration for the program begins January 2, 2013. Pick up a copy of the discussion book New Year Dragon Dilemma by Ron Roy at the circulation desk. The program will include a game, a craft and a snack. Child or their responsible adult must have a valid Library card to sign up for the program.
\nBookaholics<\/strong>
\nThe Bookaholics Book Club is not meeting in December, but will resume our monthly trips to Bruno’s Bar in downtown St. Johns on Thursday, January 17th at 7:30pm. For our first meeting of the New Year will be talking about Corban Addison’s A Walk Across the Sun, the story of two girls abducted from their Indian town and an American lawyer fighting human trafficking. Copies of the book are now available at the library circulation desk. All adult patrons ages 21 and up with a valid library card are invited to join.
\nLibrary Closures<\/strong>
\nThe Library will be closed on December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday and on December 31st and January 1st for the New Year’s Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns during these closures.<\/p>\n
