\nIt’s cold and wintry outdoors – time to heat up your spirit with some great musical vibes.

\nThe Wilson Center in St. Johns is where it’s happening Friday, Jan. 11, courtesy of three, hot mid-Michigan bands. Newday Dreamers get the groove going at 7:30 p.m., followed by Moses and concluding at 9 p.m. with Doug Mains and The City Folk.
\nProceeds from the show in the acoustically, pure venue benefit the ongoing renovations at the distinctive 1930s auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students with ID, senior citizens and staff of St. Johns Public Schools.
\nPerforming in a vintage space like the Wilson Center Auditorium that also features a modern sound system is appealing to bands, says SJPS K-12 Information Director Dan Davenport, who is coordinating the concert series along with Bill Tennant.
\n\"\"“We were pleased with the response to the debut concert last fall that featured A Day’s Ride and the Brites,” Davenport says. “We’re hoping that the Wilson Center may become a venue that people are aware of – both performers and audiences – filling a niche here locally.”
\nBoth Newday Dreamers and Moses are frequent performers in and around Mt. Pleasant and Central Michigan University. Newday Dreamers – Micah Bracken, Cody Armstrong, Ryan Heisler and Adam Marth – say their music reflects the “mechanical world versus the natural world,” evidenced by original songs that are available via YouTube: “It’s All Over” live from Middle Of The Mitten, and “Cars” live from the Hamilton Street Pub, Saginaw. \nDoug Mains has been a fixture on the Lansing music scene since 2008. The singer\/songwriter and his guitar are joined by Kim Wren (upright bass and vocals), Josh Michels (cello and accordion) and percussionist Rob Germeroth in the creation of wonderful American music with folk influences.
