There’s no pride in one single victory at the end of the season that had way too many losses to begin with. It wasn’t like it would put them at 8-8. They did the right thing and lost against the Chicago Bears and that kept them into position to take the fifth pick in the 2013 draft. They need some stars that aren’t a head case or injury prone and we are in dire need of guys that just want to play football at a high level. Detroit knew about the problems some of their draft choices had the last couple of years and they choose to ignore them.
I predicted they would have a 12-4 season but it got turned upside down and they finished 4-12. My Ouija board must have been way off kilter. Now my big decision is whether to throw it out and buy a new one or just not use the damned thing period.

* * *

We had our usual New Years Eve at home. We fixed a seafood dinner in the evening and this year I planned on camping out in the living room in my recliner with my blankie and watch the New Year come in. Betty went to bed because she’s not a night owl. Turns out I’m not either. I fell asleep and woke up at 11:00 then I fell asleep again and woke up at 12:40. It was all over with.
I suppose part of my lack of trying to stay awake had to do with not having to look forward to Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians playing “Auld Lang Syne.” Those days are gone.

* * *

It looks like our resident knotheads in Washington D. C. have saved us from the Boogeyman once more. Of course they failed to mention that the Boogeyman (Fiscal Cliff) was their creation. They’ve passed their tax bill and next will come the spending package and you know that’s going to be a whooper.
Can you imagine, when the day comes, that the Federal revenues will all go to pay the interest on the debt and there’ll be nothing left to run the government. People apparently don’t think about those things. Me, I’m going to play like Alfred E Neuman and say, “What, me worry.” What else can I do?

* * *

We used to call some voters either ignorant or morons. Morons seemed to be a harsh word so in order to be politically correct we now call them “under informed” voters. Either way they vote for a person for all the wrong reasons. Take Obama for instance, people voted for him because he was cool, half-black, can sing like Al Green, he put a lot of people on welfare, and okayed illegal crossing of the southwestern border by Mexicans and South Americans. All of this happened for all the wrong reasons.
President George H. W. Bush lost the 1992 presidential election simply for raising taxes or so we’re told. Judging by the last election I think there was more to it than that.
Anyway Obama ran on record that anybody else would have lost on. I just don’t understand. Is he really the Pied Piper? Is that what it is?

* * *

And Furthermore:
I don’t know how these big box stores in town make any money. They’re understaffed, understocked, and they run the place at half-throttle.
When you’re retired there are no Mondays and no Fridays. There’s only todays.
I’ve been keeping track of the sunrise and sunset. I started out at 8:08 sunrise and 5:11 sunset. I’m now up to 8:08 sunrise and 5:14 sunset. It appears we’re gaining more daylight at night but not much in the morning. Apparently we’re in a daylight savings time mode already and don’t know it.
If you watch the main stream news media every night then I have to believe you’re easily fooled.
Until the next time . . .

[9

post-32691","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
