M-52 in the City of Owosso on Wednesday evening March 20, 2013 at 7 pm. This meeting is open to all current, past and potential members of the Friends group and anyone else interested in the promotion and maintenance of this trail that follows the former railroad corridor running through the counties of Clinton, Ionia and Shiawassee.<br \/>\nThe featured speaker this year is Scott Post, Senior Project Manager with Prein &#038; Newhof, an engineering firm contracted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for design of the Fred Meijer CIS Trail. Mr. Post has extensive credentials in the design and construction of over 125 miles of non-motorized pathways throughout west and mid-Michigan. He also serves as the Vice President on the Board of Directors for the West Michigan Trails &#038; Greenways Coalition.<br \/>\nIn addition Barbara Nelson-Jameson, the Michigan Program Director with the National Park Service &#8211; Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program, will be presenting the draft Master Plan for the trail. Other speakers include Annamarie Bauer from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources; Lynn Mason, Chairperson of the Mid-West Michigan Trail Authority; and Nancy Krupriarz, Executive Director of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance.<br \/>\nBoard elections will take place for 3 three-year positions with terms ending in March, 2016. Members that paid dues in 2012 are eligible to vote in these elections.<br \/>\nDon&#8217;t miss this exciting meeting.
