Maurer, Arlene Myers, Iolene Edith Hyde<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Don Arens<\/strong><br \/>\nDon Arens passed away on March 5, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born July 12, 1921 in Westphalia, the son of Albert and Philomena (Nau) Arens. Don married Gertrude (Schueller) Arens in Fowler on November 20, 1950 and she survives him.<br \/>\nDon is also survived by three children, Ann (Tom) Rademacher of Eagle, MI, Patrick Arens of Fowler, Lucy (Larry) Pline of Lansing, sister, Dorothy (Daniel) O\u2019Brien, grandchildren, Charlene (Jim) Paul, Lorie, Daniel, Donald, Ryan and Bryan Rademacher, Chantelle and Paige Pline, great grandchildren, Makayla and Blake Paul, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and great granddaughter, Kaitlin Paul.<br \/>\nFuneral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler, with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler, MI. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. on Thursday and 3 and 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Phillip D. Maurer<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/maurer_philip.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Phillip D. Maurer, age 77, passed away on February 28, 2013 in Lansing, Michigan. Phil was born October 26, 1935 in Springport, Michigan, the son of Leslie and Marguerite ( Cochran) Maurer. He married Barbara Martens on May 29, 1965 in Riley Township, Michigan and she survives him. Phil was a retired postal worker, member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and member of the St. Johns American Legion Post #153.<br \/>\nAlong with his wife, Phil is survived by his children, Kathy (Walt) Conley, Penny (Jeff) Hunt, Pam Kelly (Bill Drury), Jeff (Missy) Maurer and Becky (Dean) Reed; grandchildren, Jason (Tina), Ryan (Alicia), Kammy (Ashly), Jason, Conner, Cade, Brennan, Trever, Avery, Olivia, Aiden, Hunter, Gage and Colten; great grandchildren, Kelsie, Gabbi, Harley, Gavin, Carson and Brody. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Amy Martens, Pat Martens, Rita (Keith) Herbold and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Max (Sue), Donny (Sue) Maurer, in-laws, Raymond and Margaret Martens and great granddaughter, Abbey.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church Burial will follow at the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bryan Salminen officiating. The family will receive friends at 2-4 P.M. Sunday, March 3rd at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns and one hour prior to the service at St. Johns Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or the St. Johns Lutheran Church. Military services will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>Arlene Myers<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/myers_arlene.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Arlene Myers, 66, died suddenly Thursday February 28, 2013. She was born November 29, 1946 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Julius and Martha (Halfmann) Schmitt. Arlene was a graduate of Fowler High School, Class of 1964 and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns. She enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league for over 40 years and she loved playing golf.<br \/>\nArlene retired from the Secretary of State Office for the State of Michigan and also retired as a bookkeeper for Smith Oil Co. in St. Johns with over 10 years of service. On September 9, 1967 she married Alvin L. Myers and he survives her.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are her children, Amy (Jim) Jaehnig of Holt, Andrew (RonAnn) Myers of Los Angeles, CA and Amber (Chad) Click of Howell; grandchildren, Matthew, Mara and Benjamin Jaehnig, Conner Click and soon to arrive Aubrey Click; brothers and sisters, Doris (Jerry) Wieber, Claude (Cindy) Schmitt, Phil (Loraine) Schmitt, Juliann (Dick) Bauer, Nita (Gene) Simon, Bonnie (Bill) Weber and Mary Ellen (Bill) Cole; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eloise Brown, Jack (Maxine) Myers, Richard Myers and Jim Orso, Jerry (Nancy) Myers, Fay (Richard) Schmitz, Phyllis Myers, Susie (Tom) George, Mark Myers, Ernie (Rose) Myers and Grace (Leon) Thelen and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Norma and Perry Claeys and Ray, Linda and Karen Myers.<br \/>\nMass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden, St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as Celebrant.  Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns. A rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM Sunday and a vigil service will be held at 7:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Education Fund.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Iolene Edith Hyde<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/hyde_iolene.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Iolene Edith Hyde, age 92, of Ithaca, Michigan died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Carson City Hospital.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Thomas Bradley officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. and on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 &#038; 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.<br \/>\nIolene was born in Ashley, Michigan on January 6, 1921, the daughter of Chancey and Grace (Stine) Hoffer. She graduated from Perrinton High School with the class of 1938. On January 1, 1941 she married Wayne Hyde in Ithaca, Michigan. Wayne died on September 19, 1999. Iolene was a homemaker. She was an avid sports fan going to many school events. She enjoyed trotter horse racing, dancing, playing cards and bingo. Iolene and her husband traveled all over the country, while her husband worked on construction and pipelines.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her daughter Beverly and Jerry Weaver of St. Johns, MI, son Douglas and Sharon Hyde of St. Johns, MI, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister June and James Bullard of Greenville, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband.<br \/>\nMemorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
