Bookaholics Book Club and more
\nJoin us April 18 at 7:30pm when we will discuss “The Age of Miracles” by Karen Thompson Walker. This new novel tells the story of Julia, an average middle-schooler who wakes one morning to discover the Earth’s rotation has slowed overnight, making each new day several minutes longer than the last. Julia and the rest of the world gradually discover the effects of The Slowing – on gravity, on the environment, and on their lives – in this fascinating tale that is equal parts coming-of-age story, science fiction, and family drama. Bookaholics meets at Bruno’s Bar in downtown St. Johns, and all adult patrons ages 21 and up with a valid library card are invited.
\nTween Program<\/strong>
\nAll ‘Tweens ages 9-12 are invited on a Tour of Italy on Tuesday, April 16 from 7-8pm. We will spend the evening hearing tales of famous Italians, feasting on pizza and dolci (sweets), and playing a game. Registration for this free program is required, and will begin Tuesday, March 26.

\nMother’s Day Program<\/strong>
\nGrandmothers, Mothers and children (boys and girls) ages 3 and up are invited to attend our 2013 Mother’s Day Program. There will be musical entertainment by Abigail Clark, a cake decorating demonstration by Joan Sloyer of “Sugar and Spice” and a Mother’s Day craft to make. There will be lite refreshments during the program for all to enjoy. The program takes place on Thursday, May 9th from 7 to 8 pm. Registration is required and begins on April 11th.
\nLibrary Closure<\/strong>
\nThe Library will be closed on Friday March 29th in observance of Good Friday and on Saturday March 30th for the Easter Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.<\/p>\n
