Gove, Thelma A. Plowman, Barbara J. VanEffen<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Marion E. \u201cCoach\u201d Craig, Jr.<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/craig_marion.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Marion E. \u201cCoach\u201d Craig, Jr., 66, of Fowler, Michigan passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013. Mr. Craig was born December 7, 1946 in Leesburg and wintered there since 2006. He was of the Baptist Faith but attended the Catholic Church with his wife, Penny. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in both Vietnam and Iraq, a retired corrections officer with the State of Michigan and had also retired from the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of the VFW Post 3733 in Fowler and enjoyed golfing, swimming and gardening.<br \/>\nSurvivors include his loving wife of 16 years, Irene; mother, Virginia Rogers of Wildwood, FL; children, Jon of Grand Ledge, Ryan (Liza) of Owosso, Heather of Saginaw, Julie (Bill) of St. Johns, Dale (Brenda) Wohlfert also of St. Johns, Bob (Becky) Wohlfert of Maple Rapids, Jerry (Lorinda) Wohlfert and Jim Wohlfert both of Fowler; brothers, Terry (Robin) of Jackson, Jack (Diane) of Onondaga, David (Mary) Rogers of Barnesville, GA; sister, Sandra (Steve) Bozun of Greenville; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.<br \/>\nThere will be a visitation for Mr. Craig 3 \u2013 6 pm Friday, March 30, 2013 at the Goerge Chapel of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a> in Fowler. His family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Steven Lane Wilson<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/wilson_steven.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Steven Lane Wilson passed away suddenly on March 25, 2013 at the age of 49. He was born July 30, 1963 in St. Johns, the son of Wheeler and Shirley (Smith) Wilson. Steve was an employee of Sealed Power\/Dana Corp\/ MAHLE Engine Components and The Demmer Center at Michigan State University, a Shooting Sports Training and Education Center. He also owned and operated Looking North Wood Products. Steve was an accomplished, nationally ranked archer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was skilled in woodworking. On February 25, 1989 Steve married Dawn Japinga in St. Johns and she survives him.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are the beautiful children they created, Sarah and Scott Wilson; his parents, Wheeler and Shirley Wilson of St. Johns; sisters, Rhonda (Dr. Thomas) Rohrer of Alma, Robin (Dr. David) Peters of St. Johns; brother, Wayne Wilson (Teresa Zemla) of St. Johns; parents-in-law, Doug and Mary Japinga of Kewadin; sister-in-law, Kim (Carl) Hartmann of the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as his nieces and nephews, Jonathan Cooper of San Francisco, Kimberly Peters and Molly Peters both of Grand Rapids, Betsy (Ken) Schellenberg of Okemos, Holly (Jason) Stambersky of Elsie, Tyler Wilson (Katy Jennings) of Fowler and Emily (Eric) Fisher of Nappanee, IN and several aunts, uncles, grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie (Dobson) Antes and Melvin and Lorene (Wyman) Smith.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2013 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.  A private committal service will follow. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Steve\u2019s children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Bruce A. Gove<\/strong><br \/>\nBruce A. Gove passed away on March 25, 2013 at the age of 58. He was born in St. Johns on April 11, 1954, the son of Gerald and Marguerite (Mesler) Gove.<br \/>\nBruce is survived by his brother, Ralph (Priscilla) Gove of St. Johns, sisters, Norma (Richard) Crowell of St. Johns, Donna (John) Ballinger of St. Johns, Shirley Hermes of Grand Ledge, Ruby Parkkonen of Indian River, MI as well as his aunt, Leola Gove of St. Johns. He was preceded in death by his parents.<br \/>\nA private graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating at Lowe Cemetery. The family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thelma A. Plowman<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/plowman_thelma.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Thelma A. Plowman, 78 of St. Johns, MI died on Monday, March 25, 2013 following a short battle with cancer.  She was born on May 14, 1934 in Ovid, MI the daughter of Ralph B. and Florence R. (Walter) Cornell.  Thelma graduated from Ovid High School in 1952 and on June 1, 1957 she married Harold D. Plowman in Angola, Indiana.  Thelma had worked for several years doing bookkeeping and accounting with various firms in the area.  She enjoyed riding her bike, gardening, flowers, quilting and her cat.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her sisters, Ruth Loser of Battle Creek, and Gweneth Tait of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, and brothers Robert P. and Gilbert C. Cornell.<br \/>\nThe family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tim Van Loh officiating.   Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Sparrow Hospice or the American Cancer Society.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Barbara J. VanEffen<\/strong><br \/>\nBarbara J. VanEffen, 71 of rural Ovid died on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan following a battle with cancer.  Barb was born on August 26, 1941 in Rapid River, MI the daughter of Martin and Lucile (Lagerquist) Schroeder.  On March 1, 1957 she married Gary VanEffen.  He preceded her in death on August 16, 1996.  She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1981 and had worked at Lear Corp. in Elsie for several  years.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her sons, Francis of Roscommon, MI, Todd of Fowlerville, MI and Gary (Jenae) VanEffen of Owosso, and daughter Lucy (Dennis) Strachota of Elsie, MI;  8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Marlene Schroeder and Shirley Olson and brother Doug (Pam) Schroder. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Robbie VanSice and sister Dolly Yurtanas.<br \/>\nAt Barb\u2019s request there will be no services or visitation.<br \/>\nMemorials may be made to the Steam Railroad Institute, 405 S. Washington St. Owosso, MI 48867 for the restoration of engine #1225, or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
