Benefit spray park Sunday, May 5
\nUncle John’s Cider Mill, with community support, is hosting the 2nd Annual Spray Park Fundraiser entitled, “Go Fly a Kite Day” on Sunday, May 5, 2013, Noon to 5 pm. The City of St. Johns Recreation Department is a co-sponsor of the event as are Citizens Committee for a Spray Park and the American Kitefliers Association (AKA). Clinton County Sheriff Department, Mounted Division, will provide safety officers. Free mint candies are graciously donated for the two mint candy drops by Hanover’s Michigan Mints and Stony Creek Essential Oils. St. Johns Lions Club will provide food and drink refreshments at event at regular cost for customers.
\n“We’re happy to host the 2nd Annual Kite Day on Sunday, May 5, Noon to 5 pm,” said Mike Beck, President and Co-owner of Uncle John’s Cider Mill. “Thor’s Hammer Kite and Blues Brothers will be back. New this year will be Fire and Ice from Chicago and Windjammers International Kite Team out of Detroit. These are all a great bunch of professional kitefliers who will entertain the crowds with choreographed music and teach kids how to fly a kite.”
\n“Thor’s Hammer has a 15 foot wingspan that’s the largest two-line stunt kite commercially made. It will be flown by David Bush of Kalamazoo, MI.”
