Kerby, Ruth Ann Rathbun, Russell B. Westbrook I, Duane L. Sjoquist<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Constance M. Kerby<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/kerby_constance.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Constance M. Kerby, 67 of St. Johns, MI died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.  Connie was born on May 3, 1945 the daughter of Stephan and Shirley (Massey) Babis.  She was a homemaker, had worked at Chart Hits Video, enjoyed camping and camp fires, snowmobiling and being Grandma. On December 14, 1963 she married Thomas A. Kerby I.  He preceded her in death on August 11, 1991.<br \/>\nSurvivors include her children, Thomas (Mary) Kerby II of Maple Rapids, Tim (Liz) Kerby of Ovid and Terry (Laura) Kerby of St. Johns, Tracy (Brian) Beean of Ovid and Tarina (Wes) Eppard of Ovid; 18 grandchildren, Katie, Kasey, Zach, Tina, Alyssa, Richie, Ashley, Seth, Brandon, Javarri, Kaleb, Kahri Kerby.  Autumn and Brandan Calkins, Destini and Dezarae Beean and Chevelle and Wesley (Austin) Eppard; grandchildren, Ryan and Aubrey Kerby and Jack and Max Fish; sisters, Sandy Manning, Char Oram and Linda Thomas and brothers Lenny and Allen Karl and John Sweebe Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Stephan Babis.<br \/>\nThe family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Friday, April 26, 2013, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jonathan Wass officiating. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ruth Ann Rathbun <\/strong><br \/>\nRuth Ann Rathbun, age 67, passed away, Sunday, April 21, 2013. Ruth was born in St. Johns, MI on January 23, 1946 the daughter of Ernest and Donna (Cook) Langdon.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, 11:00 AM at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palmerbush.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Home<\/a>, Lansing Chapel.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Russell B. Westbrook I<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/westbrook_russell.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Russell B. Westbrook I, age 86, died on April 19, 2013 in Flint, MI.  He was born in Ionia, MI, on October 3, 1926, the son of Rosell and Lavern (Ream) Westbrook.  He married Dorna Hoover on December 11, 1947 in Luther, MI, and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2009 after sharing 62 years together.  Russell was a member of the United Church of Ovid and the VFW Post #5065.<br \/>\nSurviving him are children, Dawne (Herbert) Hicks of College Station, TX, Nadeleen Hill of Haslett, Dianna (Butch) Frank of Williamston, Russell B. (Angel) Westbrook of Perry, Ira (Joni) Westbrook of Owosso, Timothy Westbrook and Doran (Debby) Westbrook of Carson City, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, brother, James Westbrook, two sisters, Gladys (Don Robbins) Moore, Violet Flynn, 2 sisters in law, Garnet (Martin) Levandoski and Linda Hoover, and brother in law, Norris (Neva) Hoover.<br \/>\nA Memorial Service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the United Church of Ovid, with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service from 10:30 \u2013 12:00 p.m.  Military Services provided by VFW Post #5065. Contributions may be made in memory of Russell to the United Church of Ovid or VFW Post #5065.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Duane L. Sjoquist<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/sjoquist_duane.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Duane L. Sjoquist (Papa Smurf) 77,  of Elsie, MI died at his home on April 19, 2013.  Duane was born on February 12, 1936 in Kenmare, ND the son of Herman and Myrtle (Shortridge) Sjoquist.  Duane was a veteran of the U.S. Navy  and had worked for Lobdell-Emery Manufacturing Co. in Alma and then for St. Johns Public Schools in the maintance dept., retiring in 2005.  On Aug 6, 1960 he married Mary E. Allen in Alma, MI.  Duane was a life member of Alma VFW Post 1454, a union representative for Lobdell-Emery Co., loved flying airplanes, riding his Harley Davison Motorcycle, and was a life member of the HOG Club.  He enjoyed customizing and riding Harley motor cycles, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He especially enjoyed plowing snow in the winter.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his wife, Mary; 3 sons, Duane (Susan) Sjoquist II of Bargersville IN; Wayne (Jana) Sjoquist of Barstow, VA and Dane (Susanna) Sjoquist of DeWitt, MI; grandchildren, Duane III, Clara, Garrett, Megan, Samantha and Alexander Sjoquist and very special friends, The Kirby Family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dolly and son Bobbie.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Charles Krueger officiating.  Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday, April 22, 2013, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
