Gals Fore Giving – Friday June 28
\nGearing up for the sixth annual \u201cGals Fore Giving\u201d golf outing has added motivation this year for members of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary. That impetus stems from a recent pledge of $100,000.00 the organization has made in support of the hospital\u2019s new emergency treatment wing, set for ground breaking in the upcoming months.
\nThe all-women golf outing \u2013 at the Emerald Friday June 28 – has become a vital fund raiser but in light of the Auxiliary\u2019s commitment it takes on greater significance.
\nIn a joint statement issued by co-chairs of the event, Shelley Gunther and Ann Hufnagel, \u201cGals Fore Giving has become, without doubt, one of the major contributors to our hospital support and now it is even more important because of the pledge we\u2019ve made!\u201d
\nWith that in mind, members continue their efforts to recruit various sponsors, golf teams and individual golfers to round out the day\u2019s activities.
\n\u201cDespite all the effort,\u201d commented Ms. Gunther, \u201cthe day itself is nothing but fun-filled. It\u2019s a \u2018women\u2019s day out\u2019 using golf as the excuse to get together. Certainly there are some good golfers, but for the most part, everyday hitters set the spirit of the event.\u201d
\nMeanwhile, in addition to golfers, there are a few opening for sponsors. Levels of sponsorships include \u201cVolunteer,\u201d $50-$200; \u201cVisitor,\u201d $201-$500; \u201cPatient,\u201d $501-$1,000 and \u201cRecovery,\u201d $1,001+. Other methods of support include lunch at the turn, ($375) and deli-buffet at day\u2019s end, ($450). On-course hole sponsorships are $50 each.
\nFour person team registrations are $300 and individuals can sign on for $75.
