The music begins at 7 p.m. at the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell; there is no admission charge.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13june\/clarkson.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><br \/>\nJack Clarkson who plays lead guitar, fiddle and mandolin and his wife, Tess, who plays guitar and sings lead and harmony, will be joined by Clarkson Band regulars and a very special guest. Rodney Lamar Page, former orchestra director at St. Johns Public Schools, brings his &#8220;string&#8221; finesse to the stage to play &#8220;dueling fiddles&#8221; with Jack.<br \/>\nThe Jack Clarkson Band has performed at thousands of events since its formation in 1980, including shows at the Rock &#038; Roll, Country, and Bluegrass Halls of Fame sites. The band&#8217;s set at the 2013 San Antonio Rodeo, &#8220;The World&#8217;s #1 Indoor Rodeo,&#8221; was a show-stopper. Along with the husband-wife team other Clarkson members include Paul Ojibway, playing sax, flute, harmonica and vocals; bass player, Jim Hammond; and Ricky Nalett, keyboards.<br \/>\nConcert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the city of St. Johns, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.<br \/>\nConcerts are held each Wednesday evening, beginning at 7 p.m., in the beautiful outdoor concert venue at the St. Johns City Park. The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand that offers light refreshments.
