For younger Seniors
\nKelly Voisinet a Fowler resident has accepted the position of Director of the Clinton County Senior Center. Ms. Voisinet comes to the center with a great deal of experience in community collaboration, event planning, fundraising, nonprofit service, grant writing, program development and staff management. She will start at the Center on Monday, June 24.
\nOne of the first things Voisinet will be charged with is recommending to the Board of Directors new programs for \u201cyounger seniors\u201d. You don\u2019t have to be an \u201colder adult\u201d to participate in activities at the center. If you are someone with ideas for new programs, please contact the center at 989-224-4257 or share your ideas with any Senior Center Board member you may know. The current Board of Directors is open to any ideas that address the needs of today\u2019s adults.
\nOf course the center will still maintain the usual programs for current and new members that have been going on since the center was established back in 1979. There are Euchre tournaments on Mondays (both in the afternoons and evenings), bingo on Tuesday and Friday at 12:30 pm, nutritional meals Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at noon and canasta on Wednesday afternoons. There is a $1 or $2 fee to participate in the Euchre Tournaments, bingo is only $1 (if you eat lunch at the center) and the nutritional meals are only $3. There is no membership fee to join the center and no daily admission to get in.
\nThe Clinton County Senior Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm. In addition to the programs mentioned above there is a Public Lunch every Monday from 11:30 am \u2013 12:30 pm, an exercise room, a gift shop, library and puzzles and games are always going on. Fluke Hearing and Elder Law are also in the building and are available for appointments and the Clinton County Meals on Wheels program is also housed in the building.
\nOnce Ms. Voisinet gets settled in her new position the center will hold an Open House and encourages everyone with ideas to attend.
