Sparrow Clinton Hospital can help.<br \/>\nSparrow Clinton now offers Sparrow Diabetes Center Education classes several times a year. The next session is scheduled for Friday, July 26.<br \/>\nSparrow Diabetes Center&#8217;s educators are certified diabetes educators, providing a nationally recognized diabetes program. In addition, many of the educators have diabetes, which gives them the unique ability to answer questions on professional and personal levels.<br \/>\nDiabetes classes include eight hours of group instruction plus a one-hour individual follow-up session with a registered dietitian.<br \/>\nTopics covered include:<br \/>\n\u00b7 Basics of diabetes<br \/>\n\u00b7 Hyper and hypoglycemia<br \/>\n\u00b7 Emotional aspects of living with diabetes<br \/>\n\u00b7 Medications: action, side effects, benefits<br \/>\n\u00b7 Nutrition: meal planning, eating out, artificial sweeteners, alcohol<br \/>\n\u00b7 Complications<br \/>\n\u00b7 Staying healthy with diabetes<br \/>\n\u00b7 Home glucose monitoring<br \/>\nAll classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sparrow Clinton Hospital.
