Kuripla, Ronald E. Berghorst, Douglas L. Hagerman, Shirley E. Snyder<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Ronald L. Kuripla<\/strong><br \/>\nRonald L. Kuripla age, 74; of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday June 30, 2013 at home with his family by his side.<br \/>\nRonald was born on January 16, 1939 in Lansing, Michigan; to Joe and Cecelia (Lewandowska) Kuripla. Ron retired from General Motors and later moved to Houghton Lake in 2002. He was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, boating, fishing, snowmobiling. He especially had a passion for racing.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his son, Ron Kuripla of Houghton Lake; daughter, Cathy (Kris) Patterson of St. Johns; step-sons, Scott Sillman of Pewamo and Rick (Sara) Sillman of St. Johns; grandchildren Elissa, Ashley, Samantha and husband Jesse, Kris Jr., Jenna, Josie, Spencer, Alexis, Jackson, Preston and great grandson Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robbie Kuripla in 1984.<br \/>\nCelebration of Life Service is scheduled at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christler-holdship.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christler Funeral Home<\/a> &#8211; Houghton Lake Chapel on Wednesday July 3, 2013 from 11 am until 3 pm. Memorials are asked to be directed to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ronald E. Berghorst<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/berghorst_ronald.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Ronald E. Berghorst, 68 of Gladwin, MI died on June 29, 2013.  Ronald was born on May 4, 1945 in Traverse City, MI the son of John and Olga (Dehmel) Berghorst.  He graduated from Lakeview High School and received his BA degree from Ferris State University.  Ron was a former member of the National Guard and worked at General Motors as a test car driver at the proving grounds, retiring on April 1, 1998.    Ron was a member of The Harrison Moose Lodge, Eagles Club of Harrison and the St. Johns Legion #153.  He loved motorcycling, boating and all water activities, hunting and fishing and collecting guns. He married Kelly A. Wassa on September 10, 1994 in St. Johns and she survives him.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his wife Kelly; children Ronald Berghorst II and Tami Berghorst both of Grand Ledge, MI; grandchildren, Danielle Hurd of Grand Ledge and Taylor Berghorst-Richey of Charlotte, MI; great grandchildren Wylder and Ella Hurd; sister Barbara (John) Newman of Washington State; parents in law, Stan and Millie Wassa of St. Johns, brother in law, Steve Wassa and fianc\u00e9 Sheryl Mrazek of St. Johns and Tom (Tina) Wassa of Fairgrove, MI and several nieces and nephews.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, with military honors provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday, July 1, 2013 2-8 P.M.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Douglas L. Hagerman<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/hagerman_douglas.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\" \/>Douglas L. Hagerman, 59 of St. Johns, MI died on Friday, June 28, 2013.  Doug was born on December 4, 1953 in Alma, MI the son of Edwin and Estela (Mills) Hagerman.  He married Carroll L. Douglas on August 16, 1974 in Laingsburg, MI.  Doug was a practical joker, a stay at home dad, NASCAR fan, enjoyed camping and his family.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his wife Carroll; children, Kathy, John, Bobbie and Ricky Hagerman all of St. Johns, MI; grandchildren, Matthew Redmon and Douglas Cressman; brothers, Eddie (Janie) Hagerman of Owosso, Pastor John (Tresa) Hagerman of Riverdale, MI and Bill (Vicki) Hagerman of Alma, MI; sisters, Robbyen (Robert) Taylor of Florida and Jackie Slueter of Traverse City, MI.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Monday July 1, 2013 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Chuck Emmert officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday July 1, 2013, from 10:00 A.M. until service time.  Memorials may be given to Sparrow Hospice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Shirley E. Snyder<\/strong><br \/>\nShirley E. Snyder, age 76, passed away June 27, 2013 in Gratiot Co, MI. She was born on May 25, 1937 in Alma, the daughter of Rolland and Gladys (Husted) Rausch. Shirley was a cook at the Cloverleaf Restaurant for many years. She married Dale Snyder on June 27, 1983, and he survives her.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are her children, Debbie, Connie, Candy, Elmer and Melanie, four step-children, Dale Jr., Brian, David and Bruce, two brothers, Allan and Sonny, two sisters, Katherine and Becky and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark and sister Patty.<br \/>\nFuneral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday July 1, 2013 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns, burial following at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor Ellen Zienert officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in memory of Shirley to the American Cancer Society.
