Pre-Reader Stortimes and more
\nPre-Reader Stortimes – We’re “NUTS” about Books!<\/strong>
\nPre-Reader Storytimes for ages 4 thru 6 (independent listeners) will be available Tuesday mornings, 10:30-11, September 3rd – October 8th OR Thursday evenings, 6:30-7, September 5th – October 10th. Registration is required and opens on Wednesday, August 6th. There will be new and old favorites to be read along with music, crafts and snacks. Join us for some great fall fun.
\nLapsit Storytimes : “Shake It Up … Head To Toe<\/strong>
\nLapsit Storytimes are for children ages 12 to 24 months with adult participation. Choose from Friday mornings 10-10:30, September 6th thru October 11th OR Monday evenings 6:30-7, September 9th thru October 14th. Registration is required and begins on Friday, August 9th. We share age appropriate books, music, and creative movement. Sign up now for lots of smiles.

\nBookaholics Book Club<\/strong>
\nThe Bookaholics Book Club will be meeting at Bruno’s Bar on Thursday, August 15 at 7:30pm. We will be talking about “This Beautiful Life” by Helen Schulman, a topical story about a family torn apart when their 15-year old son receives a private video from a younger admirer, and then sends it to a trusted friend. The novel raises tough questions about child rearing, morality, privacy, and the sacrifices and choices we make in the name of love. Copies of the book are now available at the library circulation desk. All adult patrons ages 21 and up with a valid library card are invited to join.
\nSummer Reading Program <\/strong>
\nKyle Gall was the winner of our guessing contest for week six with a guess of 55 1\/2 yards of vine. There were 56 yards of vine hanging from the ceiling. What a lot of monkey business! Elayna Pagels won the ‘pieces of ice” contest with her guess of 400 with the exact number was 462. The contests will continue throughout the summer so put on your estimation hat and come on in. There are also great books old and new on animals that you might see in a zoo.
\nMint Festival Used Book Sale <\/strong>
\nThe Friends of the Library will be having a used book sale in the Library’s warehouse the weekend of Mint Festival. The sale runs Friday August 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday August 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday August 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The funds raised go to support special projects and programs at the Library.
\nLibrary Closure<\/strong>
\nThe Library will be closed on Saturday August 10th for the Mint Festival. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.<\/p>\n
