{"id":37507,"date":"2013-10-24T20:50:45","date_gmt":"2013-10-25T00:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=37507"},"modified":"2013-10-24T20:50:45","modified_gmt":"2013-10-25T00:50:45","slug":"bikers-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/bikers-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Bikers for Books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13oct\/bikerth.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignleft size-full\" \/>Visit Briggs Library<!--more--><br \/>\nBikers for Books visited the Briggs Library on Monday evening.<br \/>\nThe Library hosted Junior Readers program last night with special guests &#8220;Bikers for Books.&#8221; The kids were dressed in bandanas and tattoos and listened to the guys and gals share their love of reading.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13oct\/biker2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><br \/>\nBikers for Books were excited to have four local MC&#8217;s take part in this event.<br \/>\nTo top if off, they were very privileged to have a couple of Presidents join them. They would like to thank Brotherhood MC (Lansing), Just-A-Few MC and an independent rider couple from Rainbow Lake for taking part of this fun event.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13oct\/biker1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><br \/>\nBikers for Books is a non profit group comprised of citizen bikers who believe in literacy and helping our kids get the materials they need, even when funding is short. To date they have raised over $20,000, attended 15 schools, donated thousands of dollars worth of books to various groups and been in front of almost 7000 kids. They have followers from as far away as South Africa, and we just received a donation of books in the mail from Florida. They have requests to visit school in 5 other states.
