Robert Craig a wise choice for City Commission and more about streets
\nI would like to express my support for Robert Craig for St. Johns City Commission.
\nIt has been my good fortune to work with Bob on the Citizens for a Spray Park Committee. Nearly three years ago, we had an idea but struggled to put that idea to action. Bob joined as a fellow volunteer and brought not only his enthusiasm for improving our community, but extensive knowledge to help bring our idea closer to reality.
\nWhether he is tirelessly researching and writing grants or standing in the rain to support runners at a 5K fundraiser, he is always willing to support a cause that benefits our town.
\nIt is his intelligence, experience, and forward thinking that have convinced me to vote Bob Craig for City Commission. It is his true dedication to our community that compels me to ask others to do the same.

I am writing in support of the Street Millage for the City of St. Johns in the upcoming election. I have been on the City Commission for the past 8 years. I have witnessed the City Commission cut staff and not replace retiring staff in order to provide funds for what little mill and fill the City has done for its streets.
\nIn the last few years, revenues for the City have decreased due to declining State revenues and declining property values. In the meantime, the percentage of streets that are categorized as poor have increased. Hence, we have a progressively deteriorating condition of our streets with no remedy in sight except for the possible passage of this millage increase.
\nI don’t like increasing taxes anymore than anyone else does. I have a residence, two duplexes and an office building which will be subjected to this tax. So I have a self-serving interest in any increase in taxes. Yet in this case, I support the millage because it means improving the overall appearance and condition of the City. This will help sustain, if not improve, my property values. It will have the same improving effect on your property value as well.
\nSo please join me in voting yes in the upcoming election for the Street Millage levy. Anyone who believes that the City has sufficient money to repair our poor streets is same person who believes that the Road Fairy will repair them.
