\nA recent donation by sponsors from Andy T’s Farm Market Pumpkin Trot is helping construction of the St. Johns Community Spray Park inch closer toward reality.
\n\"\"
\nSt. Johns City Parks and Recreation Director Bill Schafer accepted the $1,700 donation from Andy T’s owners, Andy and Sunday Todosciuk, and race coordinator Dave Fitzpatrick.
\nBusinesses and individuals whose sponsorship dollars were given in support of the project include:
\nAgro-Culture Liquid, Avery Eye Care, Boehler’s Greenhouse, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Clinton County Medical Center, Ferralls Tree Trimming, Fifth Third Bank, Firstbank, Fosters Wheel Inn, Hitching Post Restaurant, Jackson Jackson & Associates PC, Journey Credit Union, Koenigsknecht Dentistry, Maco Tool &Engineering Inc., Main Street Cafe Inc., Martin Brower, Michigan Woods Fibers LLC, Reed Insurance Agency Inc., Ryan’s Roadhouse, Spicer Group, Swany’s Pub & Grub, Uncle John’s Cider Mill, Mike Cook Water Systems, Jet Speed Printing, CEP Custom Embroidery, Ben and Jane Swanchara.
\nThe new spray park recreational facility will be constructed on the site of the former Veteran’s Memorial Swimming Pool that was located at the St. Johns City Park. Estimated cost of the spray park is between $350-400,000. Organizers are hopeful grant funding will help offset a portion of that cost via an application for $150,000 made to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund.
\nMembers of the Citizens for a Spray Park Committee and the St. Johns City Parks and Recreation Board have been active over the past year, soliciting donations and organizing fundraisers.
