\nA number of Downtown St. Johns businesses are helping you prepare for the holidays by staying open later than usual on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In addition to the usual goods and services they provide at value prices, many will offer sales and discounts as part of this special holiday shopping event in downtown.
\nThe following businesses will be open to help you ring in the shopping season: Rehmann’s Clothing, Furnishings and Shoes; Radio Shack\/Clinton Electronics, Clinton County Art Gallery, Basic Needs Center, Main Street Caf\u00e9, Aardvark Tattoos & Body Piercing, Nicole’s Salon & Day Spa, A-1 Tanning Salon, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Courtney’s Place Salon, Studio Retreat, the Indoor Farmer’s Market, PKSA Karate, and Woodbury’s Flower Shop.
\nThis is a great opportunity to not only jump-start your shopping for Christmas, but it also supports local businesses in your community. Their friendly customer service is sure to please you. Many will be offering special deals and discounts as part of this downtown promotional event.
\nThe Clinton County Arts Council and Gallery (215 N. Clinton Ave.) will be selling fine art and jewelry, along with items from the Depot Clinton Northern Railroad Museum. Studio Retreat (316 N. Clinton Ave.), owned by artist Mary Ablao, will offer specials on holiday gift ideas, gift sets, hand crafted jewelry, beautiful cards, and art lessons\/class gift certificates-as well as opportunities to enter drawings for gift baskets and gift sets.
\nCourtney’s Place Salon (316 N. Clinton Ave.) will have stocking stuffers, gift certificate specials, and free hair consultations. Owner, Courtney Bradley, noted that for new customers who stop in, they will be handing out gift bags.
\nThe Indoor Farmer’s Market (102 N. Clinton Ave.) will be selling items such as honey, baked goods, cider, pastries, eggs, apples, flower arrangements, jams and jellies, peanut brittle, holiday items, estate jewelry, salsa, custom embroidery, scarves and hats, herbal teas, afghans, pillows, cards, crafts, and more.
\nPKSA Karate (320 N. Clinton Ave.) will be offering special prices for lessons along with a free uniform with a three month sign up (a $43 value). The Basic Needs Center (213 N. Clinton Ave.) will provide shoppers with free toasted bagels, and food specials will be provided by restaurants (stop in to see their specials).
\nDowntown St. Johns is open for your business, and nothing is more special than being home for the holidays. Many of these businesses will also be open for the annual Santa Parade of Lights, coming through Downtown St. Johns on Friday, December 6, starting at 5:45 p.m. There will be bands, lighted floats, and of course, Santa himself to help ring in the holiday season.
