{"id":38372,"date":"2013-12-19T21:54:18","date_gmt":"2013-12-20T01:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=38372"},"modified":"2013-12-19T21:54:18","modified_gmt":"2013-12-20T01:54:18","slug":"road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/road\/","title":{"rendered":"Old U.S. 127 scheduled for improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Between Webb Road and Chadwick Road <!--more--><br \/>\nOld U.S. 127 will receive a special state road funding grant made possible by the Michigan Legislature, state Rep. Tom Leonard announced today.<br \/>\nThe section of Old U.S. 127 between Webb Road and Chadwick Road will receive road upgrades, including resurfacing work, thanks to a $1.4 million grant.<br \/>\n\u201cRoad projects and improvements are being done throughout the state because of the $115 million the Legislature dedicated to the Roads and Risk Reserve Fund during this year\u2019s budget process,\u201d said Leonard, R-DeWitt Township.<br \/>\n\u201cNo new money was raised through taxes for these projects, and I am glad we were able to set aside these funds specifically for our state\u2019s roads and bridges. This is an investment in our state\u2019s infrastructure, and it will greatly improve so many aspects of our day-to-day lives.\u201d<br \/>\nAs part of the fiscal year 2014 state budget, the Legislature created the special fund using $230 million in existing state revenue.
