{"id":38376,"date":"2013-12-19T21:49:14","date_gmt":"2013-12-20T01:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=38376"},"modified":"2013-12-19T21:49:14","modified_gmt":"2013-12-20T01:49:14","slug":"baker-54","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/baker-54\/","title":{"rendered":"Baker online named top Military-Friendly school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13dec\/bakerth.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignleft size-full\" \/>Military magazine received record number of applicant schools<!--more--><br \/>\nBaker College Online has been awarded the designation of \u201cTop Military-Friendly College\u201d by Military Advanced Education (MAE), a journal of higher learning for members of the U.S. Armed Forces.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/13dec\/baker.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"alignright size-full\" \/>The award is timed to the publication of MAE\u2019s 2014 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities, with information about institutions that go out of their way for the U.S. men and women in uniform.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are extremely honored by this designation,\u201d said Shawn Mann, director of military and veteran education programs for Baker College. \u201cMAE is the military education industry&#8217;s leading go-to journal for education service officers (ESOs), transition officers (TOs), base education offices at every U.S. military installation, active-duty service members they counsel and colleges and universities engaged in the active-duty voluntary education market.\u201d<br \/>\nBaker College was ranked high by MAE in all five primary categories:<br \/>\n&#8211; Military culture<br \/>\n&#8211; Online support<br \/>\n&#8211; Flexibility<br \/>\n&#8211; On-campus support<br \/>\n&#8211; Financial assistance<br \/>\n\u201cOur staff used strict criteria to evaluate the submissions of a record number of schools this year,\u201d said Kelly Fodel, MAE editor. \u201cWe believe the Guide serves as an invaluable tool for ESOs and TOs when advising service members about their educational opportunities.\u201d<br \/>\nMann said that the Baker College staff is prepared to work with each service member and veteran on a case-by-case basis to determine the best way for that person to earn a quality, higher education degree.<br \/>\n\u201cTo stay current on veteran- and military-related issues, our admissions advisors participate in weekly training sessions and the veteran certifying officials from each Baker College campus throughout Michigan meet quarterly,\u201d he said. \u201cThe success of our country\u2019s military members and veterans is important to us.
