\nGarlan Everett Denning<\/strong>
\nGarlan Everett Denning, age 62, of Lansing, MI died Monday, December 23, 2013 at his home.
\nFuneral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, MI, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., with Dr. Michael Hixson officiating. Burial will take place at Gunnisonville Cemetery in DeWitt Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
\nGarlan was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on February 9, 1951, the son of Everett and Fern (Borton) Denning. He graduated from Parkside High School in Jackson, and earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Michigan State University in 1979. Garlan married Joyce Grandy on May 5, 1979 in Bath, MI.
\nHe resided in Lansing for the past 35 years. Gar owned and operated New Life Cleaning for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors; hiking, camping, and canoeing. He was a man of God, and always supported his children’s passion for the Arts. Gar was very mechanically inclined, and enjoyed computers. Above all, he was a wonderful provider for his family. He attended Graham Church Laingsburg, MI.
\nGar is survived by his wife Joyce Denning of Lansing, MI, son Trevor Denning of Grand Rapids, MI, daughter Tana Denning of Lansing, MI, parents Everett and Fern Denning of Jackson, MI, sister Diane and John Laymon of Spring Arbor, MI, brother Blaine and Connae Denning of Holly, MI, mother-in-law Jennie Grandy of Lansing, MI, and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Gareld Grandy and brother-in-law Gaylord Grandy.
\nMemorials may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice or Graham Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/a>, St. Johns, Michigan.<\/p>\n

Alfred J. Lounds<\/strong>
\nAlfred J. Lounds passed away on December 24, 2013 at the age of 86. He was born on October 7, 1927, in Sault Saint Marie, the son of George and Lillian (Pagett) Lounds and lived in St. Johns most of his life.
\nAl was a retired millwright from Oldsmobile, retiring in 1987 after 40 years. He was an active parishioner from St. Joseph Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, choir member and President of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Al volunteered with delivering Meals on Wheels and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion, having served his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Arlene Lowe on September 18, 1948 and she preceded him in death on October 26, 1999. On June 4, 2003 he married Marj Parks and she preceded him in death on May 6, 2008.
\nAl is survived by his children, Linda (Jim) Kurncz of St. Johns, Sid (Sue) Lounds of St. Johns, Greg (Sheri) Lounds of St. Johns, Calvin (Mary Jo) Lounds of Mason, Laurie (Earl) Flegler of St. Johns, Rod (Ellen) Lounds of Grand Blanc, Ken (Susan) Lounds of Grand Blanc, Minh Hoac of Bowling Green, Missouri and Chau Hoac of Holt. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two sisters, Audrey Ney and Ila Smith, three brothers, Don (Nancy) Lounds, Roger (Ellen) Lounds, Bernard (Linda) Lounds and sister-in-law, Deann Lounds. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Arlene Lowe, second wife, Marj Parks, sister, Betty Gilroy, brother, Harry Lounds and daughter-in-law, Julie Smith Lounds.
\nFuneral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, with Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Educational Trust Fund, the American Legion, the V.F.W. or St. Vincent DePaul.

Sandra K. Wright<\/strong>
\nSandra K. Wright died Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 67. She was born August 31, 1946 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Elwood G. Daley and Christine A. Chrest-Daley-DeFrenn. Sandra married Daniel Wright and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was also predeceased by her parents and a brother, George Daley.
\nSurviving are two daughters, Kimberly (Ray) Moon and Vicky (Mike) Ruehle all of St. Johns; grandchildren, Emily Moon, Michael Moon, Kristie Wohlfert (Brent Martinez), Tim (Rebecca) Wohlfert and Sara Hufnagel; great grandchildren Devin, Zayne and Ashlyn; one sister, Sharon (Lloyd) Wing of Owosso; two brothers, Larry Daley of Owosso and Gary (Mary) Daley of IN; many nieces and nephews and lifelong best friend, Fran Weber.
\nFuneral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 23, 2013 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 22 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan P.O.
