\nKerri Tipps<\/strong>
\nKerri (Thelen) Tipps of Fowler, MI died January 8, 2014 at the age of 35. Born June 15, 1978 to Kenneth and Barbara (Ward) Thelen, Kerri was the youngest of four children. She was a 1996 graduate of Fowler High School and worked as an administrative assistant in the insurance industry. Kerri was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler Conservation Club, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In 2005 she met the love of her life, Chris Tipps, while vacationing. Chris and Kerri were married in 2008 and he survives her.
\nAlso surviving are their children Hailey, Emma Jo and Breeann Edith Tipps; parents Ken and Barb Thelen of Fowler; siblings Pamela (Pat) Stump of Pewamo, Ken (Jaime) Thelen of Fowler, Becky (Jack) Miller of Fowler, as well as six nieces and nephews whom she adored: Kendra, Taylor and Kyle Stump, Damien and Holly Miller, and Kenny Thelen. Kerri was preceded in death by her grandparents Alvin and Loretta Thelen, Dorothy Ward Shook and Gilbert Ward, and twin nieces Jacklynn and Carly Miller.
\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Monday, January 13, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with burial to follow at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. The family will receive friends at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Fowler on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 8 pm Saturday and Sunday with a scripture service at 3 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

Ella L. Bancroft<\/strong>
\nElla L. Bancroft, of Maple Rapids, died January 8, 2014 at the age of 92. Born November 22, 1921 to Dee and Bernice (Parkinson) Elwood, Ella worked as a homemaker and ran the family farm. She married AD Wellington Bancroft in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 2005.
\nSurviving are her children; Juddson (Joan) Bancroft, Delbert (Bonnie) Bancroft, James (Ida) Bancroft and Lorraine (Willie) Cuyler, all of Maple Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brother, Dale Elwood, sister, Lela (Duane) Whitcell; sisters-in-law, Thelma Elwood and Harriet (Ross) Henry; brother-in-law, Joe (Elouise) Bancroft; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, AD, Ella was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Joe and Roy Elwood; and sisters, Myrtle Horworth and Emma Jean Walters.

Brian James Eaton McCarthy<\/strong>
\nBrian James Eaton McCarthy died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the age of 57. He was born July 26, 1956 in Lansing, MI the son of William and Rosemary (Eaton) McCarthy. On October 21, 1978 he married Dana Haske in St. Johns and she survives him.
\nAlso surviving are two daughters, Collin McCarthy Widmeyer of Holt, Molly McCarthy of New York City, NY; one son, Ian (Noora) McCarthy of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; three grandsons, Walker, Jackson and Greyson; parents, William and Rosemary McCarthy of St. Johns; three sisters, Kelly (Mark) Jurman of WI, Kathy Bates of St. Johns, Colleen (Michael) Schoderbek of NJ; one brother, William (Shari) McCarthy of UT; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith (Barb) Haske of Charlevoix, MI, Kim (Dana) Beaman of St. Johns, Todra Haske of Holt and many nieces and nephews.
\nHis spirituality empowered him to be a man of great compassion, wisdom and strength, a father figure to many. Brian was a graduate of St. Johns High School, Class of 1974 and attended First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors and playing guitar. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and loved time spent in the northwest part of Michigan\u2019s Lower Peninsula. Brian was the owner \/operator of a drywall company.

Constance Marie May<\/strong>
\nConstance “Connie” Marie May, age 70, of St. Johns, Michigan died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County, Owosso, Michigan.
\nThere will be a memorial service in the spring.
\nConnie was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 6, 1943, the daughter of Pete and Olga (Sarkon ) Panoff. On May 6, 1983 she married Bill D. May in Ithaca, Michigan. She resided most of her life in St. Johns and Ithaca, Michigan. Connie was a homemaker who enjoyed music especially Elvis Presley. She decorated her home for every season and she liked to shop at Walmart. Spending time with her family was important to her.
\nShe is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Bill May of St. Johns, MI, 2 daughters; Angela Smith of Ithaca, MI, Theresa Guerrero of Ithaca, MI, 1 son Frederick Guerrero of Ithaca, MI, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Valerie Wilson, Helen and Dennis Haywald, and 1 brother Michael and Shirley Hrymecki. She was predeceased by her parents.

Donald Lee Salters<\/strong>
\nDonald Lee Salters, age 89, of Lansing, MI passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at his home.

\nDonald was born in St. Johns, Michigan on November 20, 1924, the son of Arthur and Helen (Hunt) Salters. He served his country in the US Army during WW II. Donald married Kathryn Elizabeth Miller on August 15, 1942. He retired as a Warehouse Manager with Associated Wholesale Grocers in 1986 after 34 years of service.
\nDonald is survived by his wife of 72 years, Kathryn Salters, son Daniel and Brenda Salters, daughter Susan McIntrye, all of Lansing, MI, son David and Kriss Salters of Gregory, MI, daughter Debra and Jeff Lecato of Lansing, MI, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother Leon and Linda Salters of Mecosta, MI and sister Betty Blemaster of Maple Rapids, MI. \nPaul “Babe” Surdenik, age 87, of St. Johns, MI passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014.
\nFuneral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a Vigil Service prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
\nPaul was born in Ithaca, MI on December 5, 1926, the son of Nicholas and Marie (Krisko) Surdenik. Paul married Margaret Ann (Duchi) Whitford on August 19, 1965; she preceded him in death on January 18, 2013 after 47 years of marriage. Paul and Margaret owned\/operated Twin Pines Nursery. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI and served his country in the US Army. Paul loved to fish, read old westerns, woodworking and in his later years napping. He also enjoyed cigars.
\nHe is survived by son Paul Michael and Wendy Surdenik of Lenox Township, MI, daughter Sharon Whitford Glomski of Ohio, son Jack Whitford Surdenik and Lori of Lansing, MI, son James Whitford Surdenik and Chris of St. Johns, MI, 6 grandchildren; Nicholas & Sarah Surdenik of Lenox Township, MI, Casie Babbitt of Lansing, MI, Emily and Tom McIntire of Portland, MI, Jenna Surdenik of East Lansing, MI, Tanner Whitford Surdenik of Lansing, MI, and 5 great grandchildren. Evelyn M. Graham<\/strong>
\nEvelyn M. Graham, of St. Johns, MI died January 4, 2014 at the age of 94. Born December 20, 1919 in Livonia, MI to Charles Ernest and Anna Marie (Rossow) Schmidt, Evelyn worked as a cook in a local restaurant. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fowler. Evelyn was an avid Tigers fan and loved spending time with her family. She married Norman H. Graham on January 6, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
\nSurviving are her daughter, Janice Graham of St. Johns, many nieces and nephews, and her special \u201cgrandchildren\u201d Kelly (Patrick) McCormack, Dawn Arens, and Craig Arens. In addition to her husband, Norman, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gayle Ann Graham; brothers, George Schmidt and Donald (Wes) Schmidt; and sister, Elsie (Raymond) Heidt.
\nFuneral Services will be held 12 noon Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass Street, St. Johns, MI 48879 with Pastor Paul Clark officiating. Delmas Johanne Moldenhauer<\/strong>
\nDelmas Johanne Moldenhauer age 86, of St. Johns, MI, was promoted home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 4, 2014. She was born February 5, 1927 in Sault Saint Marie, MI and was the oldest child of Percy and Sarah \u201cSadie\u201d (Morrison) Wallis. Delmas grew up on Spruce Grove Farm between Rudyard and Pickford, MI. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1947 and married Lewis Moldenhauer on September 10, 1949 in Pickford. Together they raised 3 sons; Richard, Thomas, and Harry who brought them 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
\nDelmas worked as a Home Economics Agent in Clinton County, and then as a homemaker who occasionally taught as a substitute teacher. She was also active as a 4H leader. During retirement, she and Lewis enjoyed over 20 years of traveling via Air Stream in caravans and ralleys and took two trips to Europe before Lewis\u2019s death in 2008.
\nDelmas is survived by her sons; Richard (Nancy) Moldenhauer of Grand Blanc, MI, Thomas (Mary Beth) Moldenhauer of St. Johns, Harry (Bette) Moldenhauer of Lake Okachobee, Fl; 6 grandchildren, Richard (Jacqueline) Moldenhauer II, James Moldenhauer, Luke (Jen) Moldenhauer, Analee (Jeremy) Lounds, Bridgette (Christopher) Estramera, Robby (Kimberly) Loschiavo; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Janice) Wallis; sister, Helen (Stan) Kresge; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lewis, Delmas was preceded in death by her parents.

\nMary Paksi, of Ovid, MI died Friday January 3, 2014 at the age of 89. Born May 2, 1924 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Thread) Deming, Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and spending special time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending the Senior Citizen luncheons weekly with her 2 year old great granddaughter, Abby. In 1943 Mary married Tom Paksi in Ithaca, MI and he preceded her in death in 2005.
\nMary is survived by her children; James (Donna) Paksi of St. Johns, Ron (Connie) Paksi of Ovid, John (Karen) Paksi of Fruitport, MI, Jane (Terry) Cressman of Whitehall, MI, and Judy (Dan) Cerveny of Epoufette, MI; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Bob (Char) Paksi and Ed (MaryAnn) Paksi. Along with her husband, Tom, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Christine E. Rademacher<\/strong>
\nChristine E. Rademacher, 60 died on January 2, 2014. She was born on August 20, 1953 in St. Johns, MI the daughter of Stanley and Irene (Dickenson) Jumper. She graduated from St. Johns High School in 1971 and from Lansing Community College with an associate\u2019s degree in nursing. Chris worked as an R.N. at Clinton Memorial Hospital and at Sparrow Health System as a critical care nurse. On December 14, 1974 she married Kenneth E. Rademacher. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2004. Chris was a loving Mother, loved working as a registered nurse, doing needlework, watching movies and she enjoyed hunting.
\nShe is survived by her sons, Michael (Kimberly) Rademacher of Charlotte, NC and Matthew Rademacher of Chicago, IL.
\nGrandson Cole Frazee of Portland, MI; her mother, Irene Jumper of St. Johns, sisters Dawn (David) Boecher of Laingsburg, Alberta MacDonald of Alma and Lucinda (Nicholas) Dunay of Ovid.

Jeramy L. Ramirez<\/strong>
\nJeramy L. Ramirez, age 38, of Ovid, MI passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

\nJeramy was born in Alma, MI on June 7, 1975. He married Amy L. Kristin on July 15, 2006 in Ovid, MI. Jeramy formerly worked at Maurell Products in Owosso and Barnard Manufacturing in St. Johns. He loved everything University of Michigan. Jeramy loved spending time with family riding his quad and snowmobiling. He helped coach his son’s youth football team.
\nHe is survived by his wife Amy Ramirez of Ovid, MI, sons; Gavin, Jacob and Nathaniel, father John Ramirez of Harrison, MI, grandfather Ronald Moore of Vestaburg, MI, brother John Ramirez and Jenn Bourcier of Harrison, MI, brother-in-law Kevin and Mary Beach of Ovid, MI, sister-in-law Tina and Phil Lewin of England, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeramy was preceded in death by his grandmother Geraldine Moore, grandparents Alex and Antonia Ramirez, parents in law Russell and Patricia Little, uncles; Erasmo Castillo and Alex Ramirez and cousin Frank Castillo.

Patricia Gay Stoye<\/strong>
\nPatricia Gay Stoye, born January 18, 1951 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Ruth A. and the late Donald L. Rice, passed away January 1, 2014 at the age of 62. Pat was employed by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, having worked there for nearly 30 years where colleagues benefited from her patience, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Pat was a very loving grandmother, mother, sister, and daughter and cherished her time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues.
\nSurviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carrie (Wesley) Swanson and Christine (Mike Ryan) Stoye; grandchildren Zachary Jones, PFC Jared Mulligan, Brandon Geiersbach, Wesley Swanson, and grandbaby Gavin Ryan; sisters Susan (Roger) Adsit and Ruth Ann Griffin; brother William Joseph (Amy) Rice; two aunts and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and two brothers: Donald Robert Rice and Donald LeRoy Rice, II.

Wilmer Allen Barber<\/strong>
\nWilmer Allen Barber, age 62, died January 1, 2014. He was born in Greenville, MI, July 17, 1951, the son of Arthur and Carol (Lehman) Barber. Wilmer attended Mt. Hope Church in St. Johns and was a member of U.A.W. Local #952. He married Wanda Baker and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2008.
\nHe is survived by his son, Wilmer (Kathryn) Barber II, of Ashley, granddaughter, Heather (Kyle) Kimmel of Perrinton, 2 great grandchildren, Ethan and Brookelynn Kimmel, his mother, Carol Barber, 2 brothers, Dave (Darr) Barber, Jeff (Connie) Barber, 8 stepchildren and many other step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Wilmer was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Barber and grandson, Wilmer Allen Barber III.

Larry I. Miller, Jr.<\/strong>
\nLarry I. Miller, Jr., age 67, died January 1, 2014 in the arms of his wife after a short battle with cancer. He was born January 22, 1946, the son of Larry and Alice (Ordway) Miller Sr.
\nLarry grew up in Ovid on his family farm. He made his Varsity Football and Track teams his freshman year at Ovid High School. Larry married Linda Hicks on July 18, 1964. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. He loved NASCAR. He raced at Owosso, Spartan and Crystal speedways from 1964-1985. He also enjoyed coaching softball. He coached several of his daughters and nieces teams, even winning a league championship. In the autumn you could find him cheering for his Michigan Wolverines.
\nLarry is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters, Laura (Roger) Nixon, Rhonda (Bill) Hehrer, Angie Miller (Kimberly Kistler), Tammy (Scott) Peru and Dana (Brad) Schneider, 10 grandchildren, Whitney, Steven, Keith, David, Dylan, Joey, Katlyn, Brianna, Ian and Evan, great grandchildren, Abbigail, Logan and Garrett, his mother, Alice, brothers, Ken, Jim, Ron and Dale, sister, Joy, brothers in law, Glen and Doug Hicks. Also his very special niece, Terri Fisher, many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Larry was preceded in death by his first great grandson, Jr., his father, Larry Sr., his sister Jean and mother in law, Ethel.

Imogene Heuer<\/strong>
\nImogene Heuer, age 85, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2013. She was born in Pontiac, MI, on November 16, 1928, the daughter of Walter and Charlene (Paris) Beaudin. She married Doyne Heuer on June 25, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2009. Imogene attended First Baptist Church of St. Johns, was a member of the Eastern Star and retired from St. Johns Public Schools.
\nShe is survived by her children, Janice (Doug) Walton of Spring Lake, Jackie (Bob) Mitosinka and Mike (Julie) Heuer all of St. Johns, 6 grandchildren, Jadon (Ann) Walton, Megan (Jason Conran) Walton, Wendy Huey, Rob (Jennifer) Heuer, Lacy (Dave) Greer, Nick Heuer and 10 great grandchildren. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Doyne Heuer, her parents, granddaughter, Christa Mitosinka and grandson in law, David Huey.
\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating, burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.
\nMemorials may be made to Grace Haven Assisted Living Center in St. Johns. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
