The items and information amassed at PGS represent a significant legacy. With goals of preservation and education, volunteers work together to reveal the past to our community as a springboard for the future. Please notice our new logo: “Preserving the Past, Enhancing the Present, and Investing in the Future”.
Over the past year, volunteers have again devoted thousands of hours to new and ongoing projects at the museum. Exterior painting was needed, as well as landscaping maintenance. Visitors included school groups of all ages, interested Clinton County residents, and several travelers and researchers from afar.
Incoming artifact donations have been cataloged, receipted, and are properly stored. In addition to a massive re-organization of inventory, PGS was able to upgrade Past Perfect (museum software) and volunteers continue to input data and to convert pictures and documents to digital formats. The Calendar Hall project will be revealed this May, along with a new, permanent military exhibit.
You can be part of the fun at Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum by volunteering your time and talents. Help is always needed in any of the following ways: give a tour, help out at the Mint Festival and Christmas, or serve on the Advisory Board. Contribute by cleaning, landscaping, performing maintenance, office work, data entry, or scanning. Help plan and build exhibits or work on special projects.
Many factors contribute to the success of PGS, the most important of which is your support. Volunteers work hard here, not just for the love of history, but for you, the Clinton County Community. Thank you so much for your support of the museum. If you have not contributed to PGS this year, please consider doing so with the donations form.
If you have already done so for 2014, thank you for your continued support. Words alone cannot express how honored I am to work with these dedicated volunteers week after week. We hope you will enjoy our 36th Season and look forward to meeting you at the museum.
Preserving the Past, Enhancing the Present, and Investing in the Future
Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum
P.O.
