Caris, Jane D. Knight, Lacey Holsworth, Wayne K. \u201cBud\u201d Ward Memorial Service<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Ronald L. Caris<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/caris_ron.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Ronald L. Caris, 72, passed away on April 5, 2014 with family by his side.  He was born on February 13, 1942 to Frances and Stanley Caris of Middleton, Mich. Ron grew up and spent most of his life in Middleton until he retired from Federal Mogul in 2002 after 40 years of service.  Ron played many sports in school and graduated from Fulton High in 1960. He then married Kay Nolph in 1963. He loved watching his grandkids play many sports and just spending time with family.<br \/>\nRon is survived by his wife of 50 years Kay, sons Kevin (Sherry), Greg (Katie) and Ronald; sister Nancy (Larry) Townsend and brother Roger (Barb) of Hastings, and many nieces and nephews.  He also has many grandchildren &#8211; Heather of Grand Rapids, Annie and Molly of Phoenix, and Gavin of Dewitt.<br \/>\nWe will be having a celebration of Ron&#8217;s life on April 19th at 12:30pm at the Maple Rapids Community Center, 209 W. Union St., Maple Rapids, Mich.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley , Phoenix, AZ.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Jane D. Knight<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/knight_jane2.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Jane D. Knight, age 77, of St. Johns, Michigan, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014. She was born August 13, 1936 in Bristol, Virginia and lived her early years in Tennessee. Jane then moved to St. Johns where she attended Rodney B. Wilson High School graduating in 1954. That same year, on October 16th, Jane married Doug Knight and they were blessed with 59 years together.<br \/>\nJane was a stay at home mother, but as her children grew older she decided to take a job in a place she frequented often, a fabric store. While working there, she had the opportunity to share her abilities as a seamstress with others. Jane then began a career working for Clinton Bank and Trust. While there for 19 years, she became a Bank Officer and truly appreciated the camaraderie of the people she worked with. Jane also spent four years as Treasurer for Bengal Township.<br \/>\nJane\u2019s hobbies were sewing, reading and cooking, but most of all, she enjoyed going to the many activities her children and grandchildren participated in. Jane had a way of making everyone she met feel special and she touched the lives of so many people. She was very proud of her family and her family has always been proud of her.<br \/>\nSurviving to cherish Jane\u2019s memory is her husband, Doug; her children, Karen (Greg) Hoffman, Kendra (Ken) Klein and Kyle (Denise) Knight; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving Jane is her twin sister, Jean (Allen) Anthes; her beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and long time special friends, Barb and Walt Pierce whom she loved as family.<br \/>\nThe family will receive relatives and friends 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns. Private services will be held for Jane at a later date. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 200 E. State St. Johns, MI 48879 or to the City of St. Johns to place a bench at the City Park to honor Jane and Doug Knight.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Lacey Holsworth<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/holsworth_lacey.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Lacey Holsworth died Tuesday, April 8th, 2014.<br \/>\nThere will be a memorial service for Lacey Thursday, April 17, 2014 at The Jack Breslin Student Events Center located at 534 Birch Rd. East Lansing, MI 48824.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Wayne K. \u201cBud\u201d Ward Memorial Service<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/ward_wayne.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Wayne K. \u201cBud\u201d Ward, went to be with his Lord on December 1, 2013 at the age of 89. He was born on April 22, 1924 in Allegan, MI, the son of Homer and Bertha (Chase) Ward. Wayne was a WWII Veteran serving as an Aviation Cadet in the Army of the U.S., a member of the American Legion Post #153 of St. Johns, MSU Alumni Assoc., American Society of Professional Engineers and the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers. He married Helen Mayer on May 10, 1950 and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2009.<br \/>\nSurviving him are his children, Wendy Ward of St. Johns, William Scott (Jeri) Ward of Tucson, AZ, 5 grandchildren, Todd, Nicholas, Kaelyn, Dylan and Sarah, many nieces and nephews, brother in law, Stan (Dottie) Sylwestrak, sister in law, Sue (Milo) Bernardon, Ursula \u201cUschi\u201d Itschner (Swiss exchange student) and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen, 3 sons, James, John and Stephen and sister, Maureen Sylwestrak.<br \/>\nMemorial Services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm with visitation 1-2 p.m. at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 East Cass St, St. Johns, MI., 48879. Following the Memorial Service, there will be a graveside service at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Military services provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard.
